🚨 MYCHART SCAM ALERT 🚨

Southwest Health is warning patients about an ongoing phishing scam targeting MyChart users.

Fraudulent emails are being sent that appear to come from MyChart and may offer a “free Medicare testing kit.” These messages are not legitimate and were not sent by Southwest Health, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS), or Epic MyChart.

Scammers may also use subject lines such as:
• “New Test Result Available in MyChart”
• “Your MyChart Account Will Be Locked”
• “Unpaid Balance: Immediate Payment Required”
• “Confirm Your Insurance Before Your Visit”
• “You May Qualify for a GLP-1 Prescription”
• “Medicare First Aid Kit: Confirm Delivery”
• “Patient Portal Verification Required”
• “Refund Available for a Recent Medical Payment”

If you receive a suspicious message:
⚠️ Do not click any links.
⚠️ Do not share personal, medical, or financial information.
⚠️ Never provide your password or verification code.
⚠️ Access MyChart only through the official app or Southwest Health’s website.

Southwest Health is proud to welcome Fisher Alan Covin, MD, to the Cardiovascular Institute of Mississippi.

Dr. Covin brings extensive expertise in cardiovascular medicine, including diagnostic and interventional cardiology, cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty and stenting, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), lithotripsy, thrombectomy, carotid and peripheral vascular interventions, pulmonary and renal angiography, EVAR procedures, venous interventions, and the implantation and management of pacemakers, biventricular pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, and cardiac monitoring devices. He provides comprehensive care for a wide range of heart and vascular conditions using the latest minimally invasive techniques.

A graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Dr. Covin completed both his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
