Alzheimerโ€™s disease is more than occasional forgetfulness. It is a progressive brain disorder that can affect memory, thinking, communication, behavior, and daily activities. Early evaluation is important because new treatment options, diagnostic tools, and care programs may help patients and families better understand the condition and plan for the future.

At First Choice Neurology, our neurologists and dementia specialists provide comprehensive evaluation and care for patients experiencing memory loss, cognitive changes, mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimerโ€™s disease, and other forms of dementia.

If you or a loved one is noticing changes in memory, confusion, problem-solving, or daily functioning, it may be time to schedule an appointment with a neurologist.

This month, letโ€™s support patients, caregivers, and families affected by Alzheimerโ€™s disease and continue working toward better brain health for all. Learn more or schedule an appointment: fcneurology.net

Traveling This Summer? A Little Planning Can Help Protect Your Health

If you live with migraines, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinsonโ€™s disease, neuropathy, a history of stroke, memory concerns, or unexplained symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, weakness, tremors, or frequent headaches, it may be helpful to talk with a neurologist before traveling.

Before you go:
โ€ข Pack medications in your carry-on bag
โ€ข Bring extra medication in case of delays
โ€ข Stay hydrated, especially in hot weather
โ€ข Protect yourself from overheating
โ€ข Keep a consistent sleep schedule when possible
โ€ข Take breaks during long drives or flights
โ€ข Bring a list of medications and emergency contacts
โ€ข Pay attention to symptoms that are new, worsening, or unusual

A little preparation can go a long way in helping you enjoy your summer plans with greater confidence.

This Memorial Day weekend, First Choice Neurology honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As families gather, travel, and spend time outdoors, we also encourage everyone to take care of their health and safety. Stay hydrated, protect yourself from the heat, wear helmets when biking or boating, and know the warning signs of stroke, concussion, seizures, and other neurological emergencies.

From all of us at First Choice Neurology, we wish you a safe, meaningful, and healthy Memorial Day weekend.
