The changes I made (in order) that helped me become the healthiest version of myself. 🤍
I’ve always cared about my health. I’ve always exercised. I’ve always tried to eat well.
But there came a point where I realized that trying to be healthy and actually feeling healthy were two very different things.
These are the changes that made the biggest difference for me:
I had to stop looking at symptoms individually and start asking, “Why is my body struggling in the first place?”
Healing my gut and addressing Lyme were foundational for me.
Iron infusions, B12, folate, omega-3s, vitamin D and improving my nutrition through food and targeted supplementation.
This was HUGE for me.
Having adequate nutrients gave me the energy, focus, and capacity to actually make healthier choices consistently.
This one may be the most important.
I started praying more, surrounding myself with friends and family who supported the healthier lifestyle I was trying to build, and setting boundaries in relationships that consistently pulled me away from it.
Your environment matters.
I’ve always worked out, but I struggled with consistently planning my strength workouts.
Following a structured program was a game changer for me.
I stopped wasting energy figuring out what to do and could simply show up and do the work.
I learned that being healthy isn’t about having the “perfect” meal, never missing a workout, or doing everything right every single day.
It’s about the things you do repeatedly.
The boring stuff.
The habits that become part of who you are.
And, ya know what? I feel better now than I have in years.
More energy.
More strength.
Better focus.
Better relationship with food.
More confidence.
And a much better understanding of what my body actually needs.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned as both a woman and a functional medicine provider, it’s this:
You cannot supplement, exercise, or discipline your way out of a body that isn’t being properly supported.
Start with the foundation. Then build from there. 🤍
Your healthiest self may be closer than you think.
