Thought of the Day…” APPRECIATE EVERYDAY, PLAN FOR TOMORROW AND LIVE TODAY”

I think we get very caught up in planning and thinking about the future so much so that we forget to appreciate and live the day we have been given. As they say, no day his promised. A truer statement has ever been said.

Recently I lost my stepfather. It was unexpected and sudden. He was actually on the way out to his Shrine club meeting. There was no warning and sign it just happened, his time on earth was done . It has affected us all and broken our hearts but it also has given me pause to think about each day.

We can plan all we want for the future and I do believe in that but we can’t sacrifice today while planning and only working on our future. Today is here and now. We have to be grateful for it , enjoy it, make the most of it. We can choose today how we will spend the day. Maybe a hike or shopping or a needed afternoon nap. Maybe lunch with a friend or family or maybe a good movie. There is no right answer and know this, you don’t always have to be working on something. It’s okay to do nothing sometimes and just rest your body, mind and soul( that’s a difficult one for me but I’m learning).

Just never forget today is a blessing and acknowledge it as such.
Happy Saturday!!!

The United States spends more on healthcare than any other nation in the world — and yet we are sicker than ever. Chronic disease now affects 6 in 10 American adults. Healthcare costs are projected to consume an ever-growing share of GDP. And at the center of it all is something we eat every single day.

The CDC reports that chronic diseases are the leading driver of the nation's $4.9 trillion in annual healthcare costs — the vast majority of which are preventable.

The solution is not complicated, but it does require a fundamental shift in how we think about food.

Not as a lifestyle choice, but as the most powerful lever we have for health outcomes. By prioritizing real, whole, nutrient-dense food — at the individual level and the policy level — we can begin to address the root causes of chronic disease rather than endlessly managing its symptoms.
