When your brother’s household needs a little A to Z. 🌿

Baños De Victoria for the baby - a gentle infusion of calendula, chamomile, and rose. The spray bottle is for misting her skin during diaper changes with a whole gallon behind the scenes for adding to her bath water.

She just turned 1, so gentle matters. And this is exactly where herbalism fits so naturally into modern wellness. It doesn’t have to be black or white, herbal or modern medicine. There’s room for both - and sometimes something as simple as an herbal infusion is a beautiful way to support the care already being given.

And then there’s My Utopia for my brother, who tried a cup yesterday, loved it, and asked for a jar of his own.

He came over today, asked for another cup, and while he was drinking it told me it was probably one of the best teas he’s ever had.

I guess he found a little bit of his own paradise in those first few sips. 💚🌿

Mocha and Lambo.

These two have been here through all of it.

Before A to Z Apothecary ever existed, I was learning, researching, making things and finding different ways to care for them.

My dogs are the reason A to Z began.

What started with wanting to care for them grew into something so much bigger, but they have always been at the heart of it.

So much of what I do has their paw prints all over it.

But you know they won’t be here forever. You know that from the day you bring them home. But knowing it and being faced with it are two very different things.

And after getting some bad news about Lambo today, that reality is hitting me harder than I know how to put into words.

Right now, my heart is breaking.

So today, I’m not worrying about what I should be doing or about what needs to get done.

I’m sitting on the couch with Mocha and Lambo.

Because right now, being here with them is exactly where I need to be. ❤️🐾

All my niece had to say was, “Can you make me some fruity tea blends?” 🍓🍊🍍

She really should know better than to give me ideas like that. 😂

Because of course my brain immediately went to work.

If fruity tea is what she wants, then fruity tea is what she’s getting and I wasn’t about to miss the opportunity to sneak a little more herbalism into her cup along the way.

So what started as a request from my niece turned into this.

First came the fruit.

Then a dehydrator packed from top to bottom.

Then trays… and trays… and more trays across my kitchen island as everything finished drying.

Oranges, pineapple and strawberries are done. Apples and peaches are drying as we speak with mandarins up next.

And once I have enough tucked away, then the really fun part starts.

Pulling out the herbs, playing with different combinations, steeping and tasting until I find the right balance between the fruity flavors she enjoys and the herbs I want to pair with them.

And because apparently dehydrating half the produce aisle wasn’t enough, I also got powdered honey to experiment with. 😳😂

She specifically asked for peaches and apples, so that’s where I’m starting. 🍑🍎

But that’s only the beginning.

The whole point of building this stash is to give her a variety of fruity tea blends to reach for - different fruits, different herbs, different needs - so whenever she feels the pull to make herself a cup, she’ll have options.

And if a request for fruity tea opens that door to herbalism just a little bit wider?

I’m going to make sure there’s plenty for her to explore on the other side. 🌿

Special Request 🫧🧡

Every once in a while, someone reaches out looking for something that isn’t part of my regular lineup.

This time, it was a mom looking for a bubble bath for her daughter - something made with ingredients she could feel good about and a scent her daughter would enjoy.

Her request was fruity, so I went with a sweet citrus candy blend - something fun, bright, and perfect for bubble bath. 🍊🍬

Because when the tub is filled with fluffy bubbles and the water smells delicious, bath time suddenly feels a whole lot more fun…

I’m Bubbling. 🫧🧡

It’s a hot one at the Thiensville Farmers Market today! ☀️🥵

90° with a RealFeel of 110°… so yes, it is every bit as hot as it sounds. 😂

But we came prepared. The fans are going, the mister is blowing, and there’s still a beautiful market day to enjoy.

Come out, walk the park, enjoy the sunshine, and stop by A to Z Apothecary to say hello and check out what we have. 🌿

And if you need to cool off for a few minutes, come stand in front of the mister with us. 😂💦

Look at my haul from my local bee farm!! 🐝🍯

After running out of honey while making my ginger shots, I needed to stock back up.

You can bring your own bottles, which I love because it saves a little money and gives those bottles another use instead of adding more packaging. I definitely took advantage of that this time.

And look at this honey.

That rich golden color just makes me happy.

I won’t be running out any time soon. 😂🍯

After weeks of watching this mystery vine take off in the greenhouse, untangling it, redirecting it, and trying to figure out what in the world had decided to grow there… we finally have an answer. 😂😬

Bur cucumber.
(…I think…)

Never heard of it before. Never planted it. But it had no problem making itself right at home.

The little white flowers were the first clue. Then I noticed the yellow jacket hanging around them, which definitely caught my attention and made me keep a closer eye.

Especially because this thing grows FAST.

And in what felt like the blink of an eye, everything changed.

By Sunday morning, the yellow jackets seemed to have tripled almost overnight. There was even a wasp buzzing around, and flies had joined the party too.

The greenhouse itself felt like it had been invaded.

My husband had to come in and help me deal with it - which was a joy considering I was basically asking him to walk into a greenhouse full of yellow jackets knowing there was a pretty good chance one of us, if not both of us, was getting stung. 😬

And because I really didn’t want to start spraying anything in the greenhouse, especially around everything else growing in there, I had to make a call.

The flowers may have been feeding the pollinators, but the security detail had gotten out of hand.

So out it went.

After all that time spent untangling vines, redirecting growth, and trying to figure out what I had on my hands, the plant I never planted managed to teach me something.

You live and learn… 🌿😂🐝

I’ve got plans. 🍍🍑

My mind has been churning for a few days now since my niece asked me to make her some fruity teas.

And this one actually makes me a little excited.

She has been slowly using some of my products, noticing the benefits for herself, and I think she may finally be starting to open the door a little wider to the world of herbalism.

So the second she asked me about tea, my brain went straight to work because there is no way I’m wasting this opportunity!

If she wants fruity tea, then I want to make her something that gives her the flavors she’s looking for while also letting me pair those fruits with herbs that can nourish her too.

So this is step one: building the stash.

Peaches first, and some of these pineapples are getting dehydrated for her teas too. Not all of them though. I have a few other plans for those, but that’s a story for another day. 😂🍍

Next up will be apples, strawberries, and raspberries.

Once I have enough dehydrated fruit tucked away, then I can start pulling out the herbs, mixing and matching, and seeing what kind of blends I can come up with.

She specifically asked that the first batch be something with peaches and apples.

So that’s where we start. 🍑🍎
