~ Philosophy, Vision & Values ~

Birth is a life changing event that deeply effects the entire family. We believe a healthy family results from compassionate, professional, evidence based care that respects a woman’s right to accurate information, which allows her to make informed decisions regarding her own health and that of her child. At New Beginnings, we provide a safe place where healthy women are empowered with confidence in their physical and emotional ability to birth free of routine interventions and unnecessary interference. We believe that every woman, regardless of age, color, socio-economic status, faith, or sexual orientation, deserves health care that is safe and compassionate.

What’s one postpartum tip you’d give a new mama? 👇

Postpartum healing takes time, and moms deserve just as much care and support after birth as they do during pregnancy 🤍

A few things many moms wish they knew sooner:
✨ Rest is productive, even if you’re not fully sleeping
✨ The hormones are HORMONING
✨ Healing takes longer than a few days, and that’s normal
✨ Sometimes the best thing you can do is let the dishes wait

The postpartum season can feel beautiful, emotional, overwhelming, and empowering all at once. Give yourself grace in every stage of it. 🤍

Timing matters when it comes to your ultrasound ✨

Early peeks (10–14 weeks) give you that first sweet glimpse 💛
15–26 weeks is perfect for seeing your baby’s full body
And 28–34 weeks? That’s when those chubby cheeks and facial features really shine 😍

Between 28–32 weeks, baby is gaining fat, giving you those detailed, picture-perfect moments. After 34 weeks, space gets tight—so capturing clear images can be a little trickier!

3 Things Moms Are Surprised About Birth Center Birth

One thing we hear all the time from moms after their birth at New Beginnings:
“I didn’t realize it would be like this.”

Here are a few things that surprise many first-time birth center moms:

✨ How calm the environment feels
No bright hospital lights, constant interruptions, or pressure. Just a peaceful space designed for birth.

💧 How much freedom you have
Move, eat, labor in water, change positions, rest when you need to — your body leads the process.

🤍 How supported you feel
Your midwives and team are there to guide, encourage, and respect your birth choices every step of the way.

Birth is powerful. And when moms feel safe and supported, incredible things happen.

It’s almost summer time—
Here’s how to stay comfortable, hydrated, and supported through pregnancy and postpartum ☀️

Longer days and warmer temps can bring a whole new set of needs for your body. Slowing down, staying hydrated, and giving yourself extra support can make all the difference.

You don’t have to push through the heat—listen to your body and take it one day at a time 🤍

What’s the nicest thing someone did for you postpartum? 🤍

The “4th trimester” is a time of healing, adjustment, and deep need for support—and the smallest acts of care can mean everything. If you’re showing up for a new mama, here are a few meaningful ways to help:

• Bring a nourishing meal (and don’t ask—just do it)
• Help with laundry, dishes, or light cleaning
• Hold the baby so mom can shower or rest
• Refill her water, snacks, and coffee throughout the day
• Offer encouragement and remind her she’s doing an amazing job
• Run errands or pick up groceries
• Respect her space while still checking in with love

Supporting a mother is one of the most powerful ways to support a whole family ✨
