Nothing brings you to your knees like a terminal cancer diagnosis. The word palliative care is discussed often, targeted therapies are given - quality of life is discussed at every appointment. Not as a means to scare one- in fact I believe it’s having the opposite effect on me- I feel very motivated to jump in- live with intention, live with purpose. In others words- “Carla get your net ready - look for opportunities to serve others, look for the silver linings, find joy in daily living. Follow my journey-

Taking time off has always been challenging for me- Why? Because I am a workaholic- Can any of you relate?

In January - after an intense 18 months of overseeing a substance abuse (intensive outpatient program) I knew I needed a few weeks off-

I’m currently in Italy finishing out my 2 weeks- I started in Tuscany. Stayed in Lucca visited Pisa, Bologna, Florence.

This week I am in Rome- I have toured the Colosseum, Ancient Rome, The Trivi Fountain, The Vatican, Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica. Many tourist destinations.

I spent a day exploring the ancient city of Pompeii.

Travel is just what my soul needed- down time- quiet time- time to explore.

Less is more-

May you take some time for you- to rest and explore.

Todays world is different- more distractions, more noise, more competition, more loneliness and more unhappiness-
-
People are looking high and low, far and near to find peace, calm and belonging. It’s easy to dismiss - looking inside of oneself to find you have been divinely equipped with everything you could possibly need to walk through this life.
-
The time and tears wasted, blaming others and feeling cheated because you gave your power and choices to others- Resentment and isolation grow here. This is a hard way and place to live.
-
On the other side is accountability, choice and experience- rarely easy but worth the investment to grow and evolve. Yes, only I am responsible for the creating the life I want. Read That Again!!!!!!!

So if you always choose to see the glass as half empty- this post isn’t for you- in fact I can see you rolling your eyes and mumbling under your breath-

If you always see the glass as refillable you understand -your responsibility in deciding the direction of your life- This is where the ‘MAGIC’ happens ♥️ dedication, commitment and hard work pay extraordinary dividends- A life you don’t need or want a vacation from. Your relationships are in balance. This is the ultimate personal fulfillment-experience.

Trust yourself to take the roads less traveled- be willing to make forgo the pressure and opinions of others. You were sent to planet earth to participate in creation. You are uniquely qualified with gifts and talents to create a life you desire.
