We are nearly a week out from our Sterling Hall Community Market and have some wonderful vendors!

We hope to see everyone next Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. - 2p.m. at Sterling Hall, 3700 Jean Lafitte Parkway.

🏈 Geaux team!

Participants from the ArcGNO Westwego Community Center headed out to New Orleans Saints training camp, and was it ever hot... but fun! Everyone’s excited up for the Saints this season and counting down to Saturday when legend Drew Brees gets inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Can’t wait to cheer on the black and gold all year long!

Some participants from Chalmette Community Center enjoyed a fun bowling outing, followed by lunch together. Outings like these are a great reminder that community, friendship, and shared experiences matter so much.

🌟 A huge thank you to several local news outlets for helping us spread the word about the Arc of Greater New Orleans' new Hurricane Preparedness Campaign!

The story has been picked up by WWLTV and Devin Bartolotta, New Orleans Magazine newsletter and New Orleans CityBusiness for focusing on the numerous issues that arise if an evacuation is called for.

Hurricane evacuations are especially complex for the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities we support, and the costs of safe transportation, shelter, food, and individualized care can deplete our reserve quickly. That’s why we now have a new campaign to raise awareness and funds to build up our preparedness reserve year-round so if we do have to evacuate our participants and their support staff, we have the funds to do so.

Giving Back Through Service 📸💙💛

Brad, a Brother Martin High School student, needed service hours and found a meaningful way to give back by volunteering with the Mardi Gras Recycle Center Krewe. Brad captured special moments and memories while at ArcGNO, helping showcase the spirit, fellowship, and fun that make our krewe so special.

We are grateful for Brad's time, talent, and willingness to serve our community. Thank you, Brad, for helping and for making a positive impact while earning your service hours!
