The 'ber months are here. Which means it's officially horror movie season.

And I have to share my top 5 favorites.

"Eat Less, Move More" - The one nobody asked for and yet it keeps getting remade every single year. Absolutely terrifying.

"It's All Downhill After 40" - A work of complete fiction that somehow convinced everyone it was a documentary. Still running in theaters everywhere.

"Just Act Your Age" - The villain in this one is whoever said this to a woman who was busy building her best body in her 50s.

"Your Best Years Are Behind You" - The most creative fiction ever told to a woman over 40. Zero stars. Do not recommend.

"You Just Need More Protein" - Okay, this one might actually be partially true. But the way it gets thrown around as a solution for everything? Horrifying.

These are the narratives I've spent my entire career calling out. And I'll keep calling them out for as long as women are still being told to shrink, settle, and accept less than they deserve.

Now your turn. What's the most ridiculous piece of fitness or aging advice you've ever been told?

Drop it in the comments. I have a feeling this thread is going to be absolutely spooky. 😂

Six months. That's all it takes with the right plan. And yet most women have been training for years with almost nothing to show for it.

The hard truth is that if you're still eating and training the same way you did in your 20s, your body stopped responding a long time ago. And adding more of the same is just adding more of what isn't working.

Comment "FORM" if you're done training hard with nothing to show for it and ready to finally build the lean, sculpted body you've been chasing.

Most women are walking around chronically under-eating the one thing that would actually change their body. And they have no idea.

BUT I'm a firm believer in not adding protein for the sake of adding protein, let's make sure your body actually needs it before we start piling more on.

Here are 10 signs your body is looking for more protein:

1. You're always hungry no matter what you eat.
2. You're losing muscle despite training consistently.
3. Recovery takes way longer than it should.
4. Your hair is noticeably thinning.
5. Your nails are weak and breaking constantly.
6. Brain fog and fatigue that won't quit.
7. You're getting sick more often than usual.
8. Your skin looks dull and tired.
9. Body fat won't budge despite doing everything right.
10. You feel weak in the gym no matter how hard you push.

If more than three of these sound like you, your protein intake is worth a serious look.

Comment "COACH" if you're ready to work with someone who builds your nutrition around exactly what your body needs to perform, recover, and finally build the lean muscle you've been working for.

Let's get that b***y in shape! We all want that 🍑 b***y, right? Here's how we get there with one of my favorites, the glute kickbacks.

Before you even start, cable at the bottom, neutral spine, slight hip hinge.
From there, hips stay forward and the drive comes from the glute itself, not the knee or the leg.

Turn your toe out slightly to about 45 degrees. That small rotation brings the gluteus medius into the movement and hits the mid and outer glute for that rounder, fuller shape most women are actually training for.

Comment "FORM" if you're wanting a rounder, fuller b***y and just need a little support to help get you there.

At 54, my training looks nothing like it did in my 20s. And my results have never been better.

Here's what ACTUALLY works for this body right now at 54.

1. Train with intention over intensity. Every rep has a purpose. Tempo, tension, and mind-muscle connection drive every movement.

2. Fuel the muscle, not the scale. Eating enough of the right foods gives my body what it needs to build and maintain lean muscle after 40.

3. Prioritize recovery like it's part of the program. Sleep, deload weeks, and stress management are non-negotiable parts of my results.

4. Support my hormones proactively. Regular bloodwork and addressing what's actually happening inside my body keeps everything working in my favor.

5. Move with purpose daily beyond the gym means strength + mobility. Mobility work, walking, and stretching keep my body performing at the level my training demands.

This is what sustainable results look like after 40, comment COACH if you want in. These results are available to you too.

Three boring things I do to stay lean at 54. And yes, they're exactly as unglamorous as they sound.

1. I show up even when I don't want to.

2. I meal prep. Every week. Without exception.

3. I say no to things that don't serve me.

That's it. Just three unsexy habits done consistently for years.

The boring stuff is where the results actually live.

Comment "COACH" if you're ready to work with someone who will help you build the kind of consistent, sustainable habits that actually produce results after 40.

Your shoes are ruining your deadlift gains.

Those cushioned soles are designed for impact absorption, which is the exact OPPOSITE of what you want when you're trying to drive force into the floor and pull heavy weight off it.

Training in socks or flat shoes gives you direct contact with the ground, better stability, and significantly more power through your posterior chain. Better connection and a stronger lift.

It's one of the easiest changes you can make, and the difference is immediate.

So next time you set up for deadlifts, leave the shoes in your bag.

Give it a try and let me know what you think. Did you notice a difference?

Unilateral exercises are popular, but most women don't actually understand when or why they should be programmed in.

They're just randomly adding Bulgarian split squats, single-arm rows, and one-leg-everything because Instagram made it seem like the grown-up thing to do.

But unilateral exercises have a purpose.

They're commonly programmed to help address muscle imbalances, strength differences, movement mechanics, stability, and compensation patterns between the two sides of your body.

If your right side is doing all the work while your left side is basically just there for moral support, that's something we want to know.

Training one side at a time can expose those differences and give us a chance to work on them instead of letting your stronger side keep taking over.

Does that mean every exercise needs to become unilateral?

Absolutely not.

Your program should include exercises because they serve a purpose for your body and your goals, not because you saw someone doing them on Instagram and thought, "Oh, I should probably be doing that too."

This is the difference between working out and actually training with a strategy for your body.

Comment "COACH" if you're ready for a program where every exercise has a reason for being there.

Standing on an elevated surface for cable kickbacks is a game changer.

The elevation gives your working leg full range of motion while keeping constant tension on the glute throughout the entire movement.

Without it you're cutting the rep short before the glute even finishes the job.

Let the muscle do the work. Not the momentum.

Comment "FORM" if you want every exercise in your glute program programmed with this level of detail so you stop leaving gains on the table and actually start seeing the shape you've been training for.

Three things I'm embarrassed to admit at 54. But here we go....

1. I still catch myself comparing my body to who I was at 30. Even after everything I know about hormones, aging, and building a better body at this age than I ever had before, that voice still shows up sometimes. I'm not immune to it. I just don't let it make decisions anymore.

2. It took me WAY too long to ask for help. I spent years convinced that as a coach and competitor I should be able to figure everything out on my own. Getting my hormones properly tested, finding the right doctors, and finally addressing what was actually happening inside my body should have happened a decade earlier. Pride is expensive.

3. I used to think rest days were for people who weren't dedicated enough. Two-a-days, no days off, more cardio when results stalled. I genuinely believed that was discipline. It was actually the thing destroying my metabolism and my hormones simultaneously. Recovery is where the magic happens, and it took me far too long to stop treating it like weakness.

The most powerful thing about getting older is that you stop being too proud to admit what you got wrong.

Did any of these resonate with you? What have you been embarrassed to admit?
