Tried tipping after the order... and immediately regretted it. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

The driver delivered my food and somehow managed to place it directly in front of the outward-swinging door.

You already know what happened next.

I opened the door, the bag got pushed, the drink tipped over, and suddenly my delivery turned into a cleanup project. ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿ’ฅ

The whole reason I was going back into the app was to add an extra tip because I thought the delivery went smoothly.

Then I opened the door.

At least he had the decency to leave the original $10 tip alone, because after watching my drink sacrifice itself to the DoorDash gods, there definitely wasn't going to be an increase. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I genuinely don't understand how people still put orders directly in front of doors. The door is literally right there. The hinges tell the whole story.

Am I being petty for being annoyed by this? How often does this happen to you? And drivers, what's the weirdest place you've seen someone leave an order?

Did this to see if I'd get cash or a tip increase... ๐Ÿ˜ญ

You know how sometimes customers say they'll "take care of you" after delivery?

Well, I figured I'd find out.

This order was over **$150**, so I was curious to see what would happen.

Guess what happened?

Absolutely nothing. ๐Ÿ˜‚

No cash tip.
No tip increase.
Not even a dollar.

Then, after delivery, I get a text and a phone call from the customer telling me there were a few wrong items in the order.

I was sitting there like... that's a restaurant mistake, not a delivery mistake. The receipt matched the order I picked up, and the sealed bags contained exactly what the restaurant handed me.

Thankfully, once I explained that, she understood and said she'd contact DoorDash for a refund.

But I won't lie... getting a $0 tip on a $150+ order and then immediately getting a call about missing items felt like the perfect ending to the story. ๐Ÿ˜…

At this point, I've learned that when people say they'll tip after delivery, it's usually best not to start spending that money in your head.

What's the biggest order you've delivered with no tip? Have you ever actually gotten a cash tip after delivery when you expected one? And how do you handle it when customers blame you for restaurant mistakes?

Boss DoorDash Lady! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ”ฅ

Spotted the ultimate DoorDash boss today... and she's even got the sticker to prove it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

You know you're committed when the delivery life follows you everywhere. Some people have bumper stickers, some people have business cards, and then there's this level of dedication.

Honestly, I kind of love seeing stuff like this. Whether you're dashing full-time, part-time, or just for extra cash, there's something funny about proudly repping it for the whole world to see.

The sticker definitely adds a little extra personality and lets everyone know who's running the show. ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿš—

Would you put a DoorDash sticker on your vehicle? What's the funniest delivery-related sticker you've ever seen? And does this qualify as confidence or next-level commitment? ๐Ÿ˜†

It's... literally right there. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

This whole situation feels so unnecessarily complicated.

First, my shopper tells me the oxtail is out of stock.

Okay, annoying, but it happens.

Then he sends me a photo... and the oxtail is sitting right there in the picture. ๐Ÿ˜

Then the explanation changes to, "the butcher is closed."

At that point I'm just sitting there staring at my phone wondering why we skipped over every possible solution. ๐Ÿ˜‚

There were packaged oxtails available. I even suggested them. There were substitution options. There were multiple ways this could have been handled.

Instead, I ended up with a partial refund and a delivery that was basically just chopped peppers.

I honestly don't know if I'm more confused or frustrated. It wasn't the item being unavailable that bothered meโ€”it was how unnecessary the whole process felt.

And before anyone asks, yes... I tipped.

Maybe there's something I'm missing here, but from my side it felt like the problem could have been solved in about 30 seconds.

Would this be enough for you to leave a bad rating? Am I being unreasonable, or would this frustrate you too? And what would you have done if the item you wanted was literally sitting in the photo you were sent?

Yo... what? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I got offered an order today that included stuff like a grill, toolbox, and other oversized items.

Here's the problem: my car physically isn't big enough to fit a "large order" like that.

So naturally, I declined it.

Except apparently that's not enough. Because after declining an order my vehicle couldn't even carry, I got hit with a 1-hour penalty on Earn by Time. ๐Ÿ˜‘

How does that make any sense?

Drivers are already getting offers from places that require memberships like Sam's Club, BJ's, liquor stores, hardware stores, auto parts stores, and now we're apparently expected to own vehicles capable of hauling half of Home Depot too. ๐Ÿ˜‚

If DoorDash knows what vehicle I'm using, why am I being sent orders that can't realistically fit in it? And why should drivers get penalized for declining orders they're literally unable to complete?

At some point it feels less like a delivery app and more like a guessing game where you're punished for not having the right membership, the right vehicle, or the ability to magically transport oversized items.

DoorDash really needs to figure this out.

Has anyone else been penalized for declining an order that wouldn't fit in their vehicle? What was the craziest oversized order you've been offered? And do you think drivers should be able to opt out of large-item deliveries completely?

Dasher accepted multiple orders... and then apparently just never left his house. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I've been watching the map for over an hour, and his car hasn't moved an inch. Not a block. Not a driveway length. Nothing.

The weirdest part is that the app keeps insisting everything is fine. It says he's "currently shopping" and my order will arrive in **1 minute**.

Except that "1 minute" has been moving forward one minute at a time for over an hour. ๐Ÿ˜‚

At first I assumed I was being punished for not tipping enough, but after checking, that doesn't seem to be the issue.

So I contacted support.

Apparently this driver accepted multiple orders and hasn't been doing any of them. Support told me they couldn't get a response from him either.

Now I'm genuinely curious what happened.

Did he fall asleep? Did his phone die? Did he have a medical emergency? Did he accidentally accept orders and forget he was dashing? Did he look at the offers and decide today was no longer a work day? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

At this point I'm less concerned about the food and more invested in solving the mystery.

Has anyone else ever watched a driver sit in one spot for an hour? What do you think happened here? And what's the strangest delivery tracking experience you've ever had?

I was under the impression that paying for Express Delivery on DoorDash meant my order wouldn't get stacked. ๐Ÿค”

Maybe I'm misunderstanding how it works, but this one left me scratching my head.

I paid for Express, tipped well above $1 per mile, and the restaurant is only about 0.6 miles from where I was parked. As an owner-operator in trucking, I completely understand vehicle expenses, fuel costs, wear and tear, and the importance of compensating drivers fairly. That's exactly why I don't cheap out on tips.

So when I watched a delivery from less than a mile away take 30 minutes to get from the store to my truck, I was pretty confused. ๐Ÿ˜…

At that point, it starts feeling like either the order was stacked anyway, the driver had multiple stops, or Express doesn't actually work the way a lot of customers think it does.

I'm genuinely asking because I don't use the service from the driver side and maybe there's something behind the scenes that I'm missing.

Drivers and customers, what's your experience with Express Delivery? Does it actually prevent stacked orders, or is that a common misconception? And if a 0.6-mile delivery took 30 minutes after pickup, what would your first guess be as to what happened?

Well... it finally happened to me. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐ŸŒฎ

I placed a late-night Taco Bell order and sent a message asking if the driver could grab some sauce packets. Nothing crazy, just hoping they'd toss a handful in with the order.

As a former Dasher myself, whenever I got a message like that, I'd just grab the sauce and leave it next to the bag at the customer's door. No big deal.

The response I got made me pause for a second. I honestly thought it might've been a typo or maybe a joke, so I didn't say anything back and just waited to see what happened. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sure enough, the food arrived... but no sauce.

Now here's the funny part. The Taco Bell is less than 2 miles from my house. I tipped $3.50, which seemed fair for the distance, and I'm the type of customer who often adds extra after delivery when things go well.

Honestly, there probably would've been a few more dollars added if the sauce had shown up. ๐Ÿ’€

Thankfully I found some leftover packets from a previous Taco Bell run, so it wasn't the end of the world.

And before anyone comes after me for ordering late at night... I have five kids. They were asleep. It's not exactly easy to just hop in the car at midnight because I'm craving tacos. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The update that changed everything? Someone pointed out that the driver's message may have been a translation issue, and after seeing how it could've been interpreted, I'm leaning toward that explanation.

So I'm not taking it personally. No bad rating, no drama. Just one of those weird misunderstandings that happens sometimes.

Would you grab sauce packets if a customer asked? Have you ever had a delivery misunderstanding that turned out to be a language or translation issue? Am I the only one who keeps emergency Taco Bell sauce packets at home? ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Is there any way to avoid this BS with the new system? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Because I'm honestly getting tired of being punished for things that aren't even my fault.

Every time I show up to a restaurant and the order isn't ready, I end up waiting around. I'm doing exactly what DoorDash wants me to do, following the process, communicating when needed, and completing the delivery.

And somehow I'm the one getting hit with a late rating. ๐Ÿ’€

If it weren't for these restaurant delays, I wouldn't have a single late delivery in my last 100 orders. I'd still have Platinum status instead of getting knocked down to Gold over things I have absolutely no control over.

That's the part that's driving me crazy.

I can control how fast I drive. I can control how quickly I deliver. I can control communication.

What I can't control is a restaurant taking an extra 10, 15, or 20 minutes to finish an order after I've already arrived.

At some point it starts feeling like the system is grading drivers on restaurant performance. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Maybe I'm just frustrated, but this new point system feels ridiculous when you're doing everything right and still getting penalized.

Has anyone figured out a way around this? Are you marking every order as "still being prepared" when you arrive? Has the new system been hurting anyone else's stats, or is it just me? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ญ

Why do some Dashers think they're slick? ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’€

This is the second time I've had a Dasher try to get me to send the PIN through chat before handing over the order.

The first guy was unbelievable.

I'm literally standing on my porch staring at his car while he's parked outside my house, and instead of bringing me the food, he messages me asking for the PIN. Then just sits there for almost three minutes waiting for me to send it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Tonight's Dasher tried the same thing while pulling up.

Like come on...

I'm not stupid, and I'm definitely not giving out the PIN before the food is in my hands. That's the whole point of having a PIN in the first place. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Maybe some people fall for it, but if the app wants me to verify delivery with a PIN, I'm not sending it until I actually have my order.

Call me crazy, but that seems like common sense. ๐Ÿ’€

Has anyone else had a Dasher ask for the PIN before delivering the food? Would you ever send it through chat? What's the weirdest delivery experience you've had lately? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚
