The Oliver Foundation

Website

The Oliver Foundation Oliver Strong, 12, died 36 hours after a leukemia diagnosis after a week of headaches. But not only is very little of this directed at children.

We drive research into the environmental causes of child/teen cancer, up 50% since 1975. Our key project is TheReasonsWhy.Us, a study with Baylor College of Medicine. Oliver was an elite-level soccer goalkeeper beloved by his team who died on June 18, 2015. His passion for soccer was matched by his compassion for the weak and the poor. To celebrate and carry forward this spirit, The Oliver Foundation was set up with a bold and ambitious mission: to drive research not into cures for child/teen cancer but into its environmental causes. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent every year developing drugs and screening equipment for cancer patients. Scarcely any of the funds are directed towards investigating the actual causes of cancer, or its prevention.
