🇺🇸 Neurological symptoms don’t always feel serious at first. 🧠

Numbness, dizziness, weakness, or subtle changes in memory can be easy to ignore — especially when they come and go.

But persistent or unexplained symptoms deserve attention. A neurological evaluation can help your doctor better understand what’s happening and determine the appropriate next steps.

What is the difference between an EMG and an MRI?

Although both may be used during a neurological evaluation, they provide different types of information.

An MRI creates detailed images of internal structures such as the spine and surrounding tissues.

An EMG, or electromyography, records electrical activity in muscles and helps evaluate the relationship between muscles and the nerves that control them.

For this reason, an MRI and an EMG are not automatically interchangeable. Depending on the symptoms being investigated, a physician may recommend one or both tests.

If you have been referred for EMG testing in Miami-Dade or Broward, Neurology Mobile provides professional electrodiagnostic testing.

Does loud snoring always mean sleep apnea? 🤔

No. Snoring can occur without obstructive sleep apnea, but it becomes more important to discuss with a healthcare provider when it is accompanied by other symptoms.

These may include breathing that repeatedly starts and stops during sleep, gasping for air and excessive daytime sleepiness or fatigue.

For certain uncomplicated adults with signs and symptoms suggesting obstructive sleep apnea, a Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) can provide clinically useful information as part of the diagnostic process.

An HSAT is not appropriate for every person, and snoring alone is not enough to diagnose sleep apnea.
Neurology Mobile provides Home Sleep Apnea Testing in Miami-Dade and Broward.

👉 Visit our website to learn more about HSAT and speak with your healthcare provider about whether home sleep testing may be appropriate for you.

Can an EEG be normal after a seizure? 🧠

Yes. A routine EEG records your brain’s electrical activity during a specific window of time. If abnormal activity doesn’t happen during that recording, the EEG may appear normal.

That’s why a normal EEG does not, by itself, rule out a previous seizure or epilepsy.

Healthcare providers interpret EEG results together with what happened during the event, your medical history, neurological evaluation and other relevant findings.

Think of the EEG as one piece of the clinical picture—not the entire diagnosis.

Do you snore, wake up with a dry mouth, and still feel exhausted after a full night’s sleep? 😴

These symptoms may be worth discussing with your doctor.

With obstructive sleep apnea, breathing can repeatedly stop or become reduced during sleep, disrupting your rest without you even realizing it.

A Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) can help evaluate what’s happening while you sleep. And when obstructive sleep apnea is confirmed, treatments such as CPAP can help keep the airway open throughout the night.

Neurology Mobile offers Home Sleep Apnea Testing in Miami-Dade and Broward.

👉 Recognize these symptoms? Talk to your doctor and learn more about HSAT through the link in our bio.

Is an EMG test painful? 🤔

It is one of the most common questions patients ask before an electromyography appointment. Everyone experiences the test differently, but EMG is commonly described as uncomfortable rather than continuously painful.

Some parts may feel like a brief pinch, sting, or quick electrical sensation. The sensations usually occur in short stages while the technologist evaluates different nerves and muscles.

Knowing what will happen can make the appointment feel less intimidating. Tell the technologist if you feel anxious or have questions during the test.

¿Duele un EMG? 🤔
