The Wall Street Journal recently reported that major insurers paid nothing on more than 44% of homeowner claims resolved nationwide in 2024. Florida is the worst state in the nation for unpaid homeowner insurance claims, with more than two in five claims resulting in no payout from insurers.
That raises an important question: If litigation has collapsed, insurer costs are declining, and claims are increasingly resulting in no payment, are homeowners actually receiving the coverage they believe they purchased?
