Women have been told their entire lives that the most loving thing they can do is give. Pour. Sacrifice. Put everyone else first and maybe there will be some left for her.
But I have watched what actually happens when a woman is running on empty. The people around her feel that too. The exhaustion comes through. The resentment that builds when she has been giving and giving without ever receiving comes through. The absence of her, the real her, the one who is fully alive and expressed and completely herself, is felt by everyone who loves her even when they cannot fully understand it.
And I have also watched what happens when a woman finally stops shrinking herself and starts living from the fullest, most expressed version of who she actually is.
Her children feel it in their nervous systems before they understand it with their minds. Her partner feels it in the quality of their conversations, in the way they move through conflict, in the depth of what becomes possible between two people when one of them has finally stopped abandoning herself. The people closest to her feel the difference between a woman who is managing her life and a woman who is actually living inside it.
Your aliveness is not something to feel guilty about. It is the most powerful thing you have to offer the people you love. And the ones who truly love and support your have been waiting for it far longer than you realize.
Repost this for every woman you know who has been pouring from an empty cup and deserves to finally be full.
