You want to feel healthier, stronger and more balanced, but sometimes getting the support you need can be tough.

I’ve completed the rigorous Mayo Clinic Health and Wellness Coach Training Program, building on decades of experience to help you turn your health and wellness goals into meaningful, lasting change.

You choose the focus. Together, we create practical steps forward, with support and accountability.

I’m selecting a small number of new clients for six complimentary virtual coaching sessions.

My workout starts in the locker room.

A pause. Lip balm. A breath. That’s my moment to refocus, ground myself, and get present.

Then I’m ready to train:

• Phone away
• Plan in mind
• Attention on the movement and the muscle I’m working
• Conversation can wait until after my sets

In a bench press study, using a focus cue increased activity in several muscles compared with lifting without one. That’s why I protect my attention during a workout.

Your workout isn’t just what you do. It’s also what you don’t.

This is something I hear a lot.

“I don’t like weight training. What can I do instead?”

My honest answer is that there is no substitute for resistance training.

As women age, especially after menopause, we lose muscle, strength and bone. If we do nothing to challenge them, we increase our risk of weakness, instability, falls and fractures.

Nearly 75% of hip fractures happen in women, and reported mortality can reach 20% to 24% in the first year afterward.

Yes, those numbers should scare you a little. But they should also motivate you, because there is so much you can do now.

You do not have to love the gym. Find a form of resistance training you can stick with and start.

Your strength is your independence. Let’s go!!! Are you lifting?

You eat well. You lift weights. You hit your protein. You take care of yourself.

So why are you still waking up at 3 a.m., craving things you normally wouldn’t, feeling more impatient, struggling with your stomach, or wondering why you’re just not recovering the way you used to?

Have you thought about stress?

And I don’t just mean having a stressful day.

I mean the kind of stress that keeps your body in a constant state of “go.” The kind you may have gotten very good at living with because you’re busy, capable, and used to handling a lot.

Your body still feels it and it’s holding you back.

Stress can affect your sleep, digestion, blood pressure, immune system, concentration, appetite and even how well you recover from your workouts.

And in midlife, when hormones and sleep may already be shifting, that extra load can feel even heavier.

This is something I want women to understand because you can be doing so many things right and still feel like something is off.

It doesn’t necessarily mean you need to exercise more, eat less, or try harder.

Sometimes what your body needs is more recovery. Self care is vital in reducing that chronic stress.

Protect your sleep. Keep lifting. Eat enough protein and enough food. Get outside and walk. Slow down your breathing. Spend time with people who make you feel good. And ask for support when you need it. Journaling, breath work and yoga are also excellent ways to help your nervous system recover.

You’re never going to eliminate stress completely. None of us will.

The goal is to give your body the tools to come back down after the stress has passed.

Swipe through the slides and save this one. I think a lot of us need this reminder. 🤍

Everything you wanted to know about vaginal health but were afraid to ask.💕

Dryness, burning, irritation, discomfort with intimacy, urinary urgency and recurrent UTIs can all be signs of genitourinary syndrome of menopause, or GSM.

What can vaginal estrogen do?

Low-dose vaginal estrogen acts locally, with minimal systemic absorption. It can restore moisture and support healthier tissue, reduce dryness, burning, irritation and discomfort with intimacy, and improve urinary urgency or frequency. It can also help reduce recurrent UTIs.

This is especially important for older women. Recurrent UTIs can require hospitalization and, in severe cases, progress to sepsis. Current guidelines recommend low-dose vaginal estrogen for appropriate perimenopausal and postmenopausal women with recurrent UTIs to help reduce future infections.

Options include creams, tablets or inserts, and rings. A history of estrogen-sensitive cancer requires an individualized conversation with your care teams.

These symptoms are common. You do not have to live with them. Speak with a clinician who understands menopause care.

Save this post and share it with a woman who may need it.

The older I get, the less alcohol makes sense to me. ✋

I don’t drink alcohol as part of my normal life. I never order a cocktail or pour myself a glass of w**e at home. Very occasionally, I’ll have a glass of brut or prosecco at a celebration. That’s about it.

And the more I learn about alcohol, the more comfortable I am with that choice.

I saw a breakdown in The New York Times and wanted to share some of it because alcohol is so normalized that we often don’t think about what it is actually doing inside the body.

It can affect blood pressure, heart rhythm, liver health, gut health and cancer risk. For women, even relatively low intake has been associated with a significantly higher risk of breast cancer.

And as we get older, I think the conversation becomes even more important.

Sleep. Recovery. Energy. Hormonal health. Brain health. How you feel the next morning. How well you train. How well you recover.

I work too hard on my health to routinely add something that works against the way I want to feel and age.

This is not about judgment. You get to decide what fits into your life.

But I do believe in making that decision while knowing some of the facts.

Swipe through. This is worth knowing.

YES YOU CAN! ✅

You can get stronger.✅
You can build muscle. ✅
You can improve your energy, balance, confidence, and the way you feel in your body. ✅

Here is what I want you to think about.

You do not need to start perfectly.
You just need to start and shop up consistently.

Lift weights. ✅
Eat enough protein. ✅
Walk more. ✅
Prioritize sleep. ✅
Practice balance. ✅
Keep going. ✅

At 61, I am not training to look younger. That’s just a side effect.
I am training for the life I still want to live.
Age is not the barrier. Your mindset may be.
You may need a different strategy, but you are absolutely still capable of becoming stronger.

Start now.
Start where you are.
Then keep showing up.

Save this as your reminder.

Yes, you can!

The most shocking statistic in this reel is not that lifestyle matters.

It is that only 3% of women meet both the physical activity and healthy eating recommendations. 3 %! Are you one of them?

We do not need more complicated advice. We need to consistently do the basics:

Strength train three times a week.
Walk every day.
Eat protein and plants at most meals.
Protect your sleep.
Manage your stress.
Do not smoke.

You do not need perfection. You need habits you can repeat for years.

Save this. Your future strength, bones, brain, heart, and independence are being built by what you do today.
