I was born into a massive family—twelve aunts and uncles on my father’s side, ten on my mother’s. I used to think I could pick and choose which parts of my heritage I carried, but I learned the hard way: Generational curses don’t play favorites.

In a family that large, there is a lot of history, a lot of tradition, and a lot of hidden baggage. Most of us think that if we spend more time with the "good" side of the family or distance ourselves from the "troubled" side, we can somehow avoid the spiritual gravity of our bloodline.

But spiritual laws don't work based on proximity; they work based on inheritance.

The Reality of the Double Stream:
You are a product of two distinct spiritual streams.

It’s Not About Proximity: You don't have to grow up in your father's house to inherit his demons.

The Inevitable Manifestation: Eventually, the seeds planted in previous generations will seek a place to grow. For me, the curses from both sides began to manifest, regardless of who I spent my time with.

The Silent Hand-Off: What isn't dealt with in the prayer closet of one generation becomes the giant that the next generation has to face on the battlefield.

The Weight of the Family Tree:
When you have over twenty aunts and uncles, the "spiritual DNA" is complex.

The Father’s Side: There were specific strongholds of pride and ego that I had to confront.

The Mother’s Side: There were deep-rooted issues that tried to claim my identity.

The Collision: When these streams met in me, it created a perfect storm of internal conflict.

Breaking the Cycle:
My wife, Shanah, and I have realized that the only way to deal with a double-sided generational attack is through Double-Sided Deliverance.

Acknowledge Both Roots: You have to be willing to look at the "skeletons" on both sides of the closet.

Stop the Blame Game: It doesn't matter whose "fault" the curse is; it only matters who has the authority to break it.

Establish a New Bloodline: Through Christ, you are grafted into a new family tree. You can take the best of your natural heritage and cancel the rest by the power of the Blood of Jesus.

A New Legacy:
You are not a victim of your family size or your family's history. You were positioned in that bloodline to be the one who finally says, "This stops with me."

Don’t be intimidated by how many people in your past struggled with the same thing you’re fighting. It only takes one person, standing in the authority of the Kingdom, to change the trajectory of the entire tree.

"I thought I forgave him, but I did not truly forgive him from my heart."

This is the hardest boundary to cross on the road to freedom. It is the moment you realize that holding onto resentment, even when it is completely justified by the pain of your past, is the very thing keeping you locked in a cage.

For years, I carried the weight of what happened to me when I was nine years old. My cousin molested me, opening a door of trauma, anger, and bitterness that quieted my spiritual gifts and twisted my perspective. Like many believers, I knew the "right" Christian answer was forgiveness. I said the words. I went through the motions. I thought I had checked the box.

But there is a vast difference between a surface-level decision to let something go and true, deep forgiveness from the heart.

The Illusion of Surface Forgiveness:
We often confuse avoiding a memory with healing from it. You know you haven't truly forgiven from the heart when:

The Triggers Remain: Mentioning a name or seeing a face instantly brings back the exact same rage and nausea you felt years ago.

The Fruit of Bitterness: The trauma continues to bleed into your current relationships, causing outbursts, defensiveness, or a need for control.

The Legal Foothold: The enemy uses that hidden pocket of unforgiveness as a legal right to keep your life spinning out of control behind closed doors.

Why Heart Forgiveness Feels Impossible:
When you are dealing with childhood trauma, your mind screams that forgiveness means letting the person off the hook. It feels like you are validating the wrong that was done to you.

But true forgiveness isn't about the other person; it is about your liberty. It is admitting that what they did was evil, but refusing to let their past actions dictate your spiritual authority today.

The Moment the Chain Breaks:
During my own transformation journey, the Holy Spirit confronted me with the truth. I had to stop managing the memory and allow God to do surgery on the wound.

Acknowledge the True Pain: Stop burying the anger. Bring the raw, ugly truth of what happened before God in the secret place.

Surrender the Right to Retaliate: True forgiveness means giving up the desire to see them suffer or pay for what they did, handing the scales of justice completely over to God.

Command the Spirit to Leave: Unforgiveness acts like a lock on a door. The moment you forgive from the heart, the lock clicks open, and the spirits of rage, shame, and bitterness lose their legal right to stay.

Freedom is Waiting for You:
My wife, Shanah, stood by me as I walked through this fire. I had to learn that you cannot carry a prophetic mantle and a root of bitterness at the same time. One will always try to choke out the other.

If you are reading this and you are still holding onto the wreckage of your childhood, hear me: You don't have to live in that wilderness anymore. True, deep, heart-level forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door to the destiny the enemy tried so hard to kill.

"Just breathe. Be kinder. Be more patient."

We’ve been told that if we just count to ten or master a few communication techniques, our "anger issues" will disappear. But you can’t "breathe" your way out of a spiritual stronghold.

A lot of believers get stuck because they diagnose a spiritual problem as a behavioral issue. They treat the symptoms with counseling, self-help books, and breathing exercises, hoping that if they just try harder, they’ll stop being so reactive.

The "Bad Boys" Fallacy:
It reminds me of that scene in Bad Boys where they try to use "Woosah" to calm down. It’s a funny moment on screen, but in real life, calling on "breathing techniques" to fix a mouth that is out of control is like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound.

The Problem: You’re fighting a spiritual fire with a water pistol.

The Frustration: You do the exercises, you read the books, but the moment a trigger hits, the rage or the sharp words come flooding back.

The Truth: You don't just have a "personality quirk"; you have a root problem that requires a spiritual solution.

Management vs. Freedom:
Counseling and "woosah" moments are about management—learning to live with the weight while trying not to let it crush you. Deliverance is about freedom—removing the weight entirely.

[Image: Management (the struggle) vs. Freedom (the victory)]

My wife, Shanah, and I have seen it time and again: you can be the "kindest" person in the world until that one spirit is poked. That’s because the issue isn't your kindness; it’s the legal right an enemy spirit is using to bypass your will.

Stop trying to "manage" the darkness. Stop trying to "breathe through" the bo***ge. It’s time to go for the root. When the root is dealt with through the power of Jesus, you won't need a "technique" to stay calm—you’ll have the actual Peace that passes all understanding.

"I’m just being peaceful." "I'm just waiting on God."

Sometimes, what we call "patience" is actually fear. There is a silence that comes from the Holy Spirit, and then there is a silence that comes from a spirit of intimidation. Do you know which one is ruling your mouth?

We often talk about the damage done by speaking too much, but there is an equal danger in speaking too little. There are moments when you are supposed to confront that situation, address the issue in your home, speak up in that meeting, or stand up for God on your platform—and you choose to stay quiet.

The "Safety" Trap:
If you aren't speaking because you're afraid of what people will think, afraid of conflict, or afraid of being "canceled" in today’s culture, your silence isn't a virtue—it's a cage.

Fear of Man: Prioritizing the opinions of people over the instructions of God.

Conflict Avoidance: Letting a "stronghold" grow in your marriage or business because you're too uncomfortable to have the hard conversation.

The Culture Filter: Muffling your faith to stay "socially acceptable."

The Price of Withholding Your Voice:
When God gives you a word or a directive to speak and you withhold it out of fear, you aren't just "staying safe." You are allowing the enemy to take ground that your voice was meant to protect.

Discern the Difference:

God-Led Silence: Brings peace, clarity, and is followed by a "well done." It feels like strength under control.

Fear-Based Silence: Brings anxiety, a "pit" in your stomach, and a sense of regret. It feels like a muzzle.

My wife, Shanah, and I have seen that "walking on eggshells" (as I used to do) is just another way the enemy keeps you from your authority. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind—and that sound mind knows exactly when to open its mouth.

Don't let the fear of being "canceled" by the world keep you from being "commissioned" by Heaven. If God told you to speak, your silence is a seed of disobedience you can't afford to sow.

Is there a conversation you’ve been avoiding or a post you’ve been "hiding" because of what people might think? It’s time to break the spirit of intimidation and use your voice.

"I’m learning how easily ego can come into play as a man, and how it can make it feel like our wives shouldn't or can't speak into certain areas of our lives."

The biggest lie the enemy feeds a man—especially a leader—is that protecting your ego is the same as protecting your authority. When you build a pedestal of perfection around yourself, you don't look holier; you just ensure that your eventual fall will be catastrophic.

One of the most dangerous cultures we've created in the modern church is the illusion of the "flawless pastor." We put leaders in a position where they feel forced to act holier-than-thou, pretending they don't get triggered, don't struggle, and don't make mistakes.

But a platform does not change your humanity. It only magnifies it.

A brother in our community who is newly married shared this profound realization with me, and it hits the absolute core of kingdom manhood. He admitted how quickly ego tries to take the driver's seat, whispering that as the man, your wife doesn't have the right to challenge you, correct you, or speak truth into the blind spots of your life.

The Silent Weapon of the Ego:
If you want to look at how the enemy subtly derails a kingdom marriage or a ministry, look directly at a man’s pride.

The Defense Mechanism: When your wife points out a flaw, a bad reaction, or a spiritual leak in your life, the ego immediately interprets it as an attack on your leadership. You erect walls of silence or anger to shut her down.

The Danger of the Echo Chamber: If your wife cannot speak into your life, nobody can. The moment a husband locks his spouse out of his private growth, he isolates himself from his primary, God-given ally.

We Are Still Growing: True spiritual authority is not defined by never falling; it is defined by how fast you get back up, apologize, and realign. When you dismantle the "perfect leader" myth, you give your entire household permission to heal.

The Kingdom Reality Check:
God didn’t design your wife to be a silent spectator to your life; He designed her as a helpmeet—a strategic partner positioned to see the arrows you miss. A real man of God doesn't use his headship to silence his wife’s discernment; he uses his humility to receive it.

My wife, Shanah, and I have survived the heaviest warfare of our lives precisely because we tore down the pedestals early. When I broke down in that kitchen and when I had to ask for forgiveness, it wasn't about losing authority. It was about allowing the real process of growth to happen in plain view.

"He’s gonna come subtly... if you would've let that go, there's no telling what this would've turned into."

The enemy rarely shows up with a massive frontal assault. Instead, he slips in through a quiet thought, a tiny irritation, or a minor compromise. If you don't catch it and nip it in the bud immediately, that small seed will grow into a massive stronghold before you even realize what happened.

We often underestimate the compound effect of unchecked spiritual static. When a small wedge enters your marriage, your mind, or your home, the flesh whispers, "It’s not that big of a deal. I’ll deal with it later."

But in the spirit realm, delay is permission.

During our conversation, my wife, Shanah, pointed out a critical truth about how warfare actually operates. If I had chosen to ignore that heavy weight or sweep the tension under the rug, there is no telling what kind of destructive cycle that seed would have produced over the next few months.

Thank God for the mind of Christ that alerts us to the whisper before it becomes a roar.

The Protocol of Immediate Arrest:
When you sense a shift in the spiritual atmosphere of your life, you cannot afford to be passive. You have to handle it right away:

No Waiting Period: The moment you feel the old trigger, the sudden heaviness, or the subtle temptation, you have to nip it in the bud. You don't wait for things to get completely out of hand before you decide to act.

The Prayer Closet Interrogation: You take that issue straight upstairs. You get into your prayer closet, close the door, and look the situation squarely in the face. Your first response must be: "Listen Lord, what is going on here? Expose the root."

Operating in the Mind of Christ: Walking in spiritual authority means possessing the discernment to see the enemy's trap while it is still being set. It allows you to intercept the assignment before it ever has the chance to take root in your life.

The Rule of the Root:
It is infinitely easier to pull up a sprout than it is to chop down a fully grown oak tree. Stop letting the enemy build structures in your life because you are too tired or too distracted to address the small things. Go to the closet, find the root, and yank it out.

Shanah and I have seen that the most powerful deliverance ministries aren't just good at casting things out—they are excellent at keeping things out by refusing to let the subtle entry points go unchallenged.

"Where are you at? Have you backed down already?"

The enemy didn't change his strategy for this year; he just waited for you to get tired. If you are sitting there right now realizing you've quietly slipped back into the very things you swore you were done with, it is time to wake up, pull your guard back up, and break the compromise.

At the beginning of this season, we all made declarations. We drew lines in the sand. We said, "This is the year everything changes."

But spiritual warfare isn't won in a single moment of inspiration—it is won in the daily, quiet choices when nobody is looking. Today, I am asking you a direct, sobering question that every single one of us has to answer before God:

Where are you actually at right now?

The Checklist of the Compromise:
The enemy loves to slowly erode your boundaries until you wake up one day completely backslid. Look at where he has been targeting you over the last few weeks:

The Hidden Screens: The enemy tried to come at some of us with looking at things we are absolutely not supposed to be looking at. Have you stayed in that place? Are you harboring that hidden images or lustful habits again?

The Old Vices: He brought back the exact same vices that you were used to last year. The things you said would never touch your body or your home again. Are you still doing them?

The Old Triggers: Have you fallen back into the exact same ways you used to act? Are you letting the exact same situations trigger your anger, your anxiety, or your old toxic coping mechanisms?

The Reality Check:
Having a moment where you stumble is a battle. But staying in that compromise and pretending you are still walking in freedom is a trap. If you are running the exact same script you ran last year, you have allowed the enemy to reclaim his legal lease on your mind.

My wife, Shanah, and I are not here to give you comfortable messages that allow you to sleep through your destiny. If you have compromised, do not stay there. Do not let the enemy convince you that because you fell, you are defeated. Get back on your face, admit the problem, and evict the spirit.

"Say it out loud."

In the Kingdom of God, silence is often interpreted as consent. If you want to break a generational curse, you cannot just think about it or hope it goes away—you have to verbally rescind the contract. Step 3 is where you move from being a silent victim to a legal enforcer.

There is a spiritual law that requires your participation to break a cycle. A generational curse operates on agreement—either an agreement made by your ancestors or an agreement you’ve unknowingly maintained by accepting their patterns as "normal." To stop the cycle, you must use your voice to break that agreement.

Why "Out Loud" Matters:
Spiritual legalities are settled through the spoken word. Just as you confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord to be saved, you must confess with your mouth that the curse is broken to be free.

Command the Break: Use words like "I renounce," "I break," and "I rescind."

The Kingdom Proclamation:
Try this right now: "I renounce the generational curse of [Name it] in my bloodline. I break your legal right in the name of Jesus. You have no more authority here!"

My wife, Shanah, and I have seen that the very moment a person speaks these words with conviction, the "weight" of the curse often begins to lift physically. The legal ground is shifting beneath the enemy's feet.

"You have no power over my children or me."

Once the legal contract (the curse) is torn up, the "enforcer" becomes a squatter. Step 4 is the simplest, but most people skip the legal work and wonder why the enemy won't budge. Today, we're serving the final eviction notice.
In the spirit realm, authority is based on legality. If a demon is still in your house after you've repented, it’s usually because it believes it still has a "lease" through a generational curse. But once you have identified, confessed, and renounced that curse, the enemy is officially trespassing.

The Moment of Command:
You don’t have to scream, plead, or bargain. When you know the legal standing has been revoked, your command carries the weight of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Zero Legal Standing: After the curse is broken, the demon literally has "no leg to stand on." It is an illegal occupant.

The Power of the Name: You aren't commanding them in your own strength or personality; you are using the Name of Jesus Christ—the name that every knee must bow to.

The Boundary Line: When you say, "You have no power over my children," you are setting a spiritual perimeter that the enemy cannot cross.

The Final Step: The Eviction Command

1.Check the Paperwork:Believe the work is done.
Confirm in your spirit that the curse is broken. If the contract is gone, the demon is now a trespasser.

2.Command the Departure:
Speak with Authority.
Say it out loud: "Every demon attached to this curse, I command you to leave now in the name of Jesus Christ!"

3.Declare the Boundary:
Seal the Exit.

Declare that the door is shut. "You have no more access to my mind, my body, or my children. This bloodline is closed to you."

The Kingdom Secret:
A demon is like a bad tenant. Even if they know they’ve been evicted, they might stay until you physically show up with the "sheriff" and tell them to get out. Your spoken command is that enforcement.

Don't Leave the House Empty:
My wife, Shanah, and I always remind people: once the enemy is gone, fill that space with the Holy Spirit, worship, and the Word of God. A house full of light is a house that stays free.
