Rosalie Bingall Ferguson

Early in the morning of May 12, 2026, Rosalie Bignall Ferguson slipped from this life to return home to Heavenly Father and her husband, Bryant Ferguson, to move forward in the next chapter of their eternal journey.

Rosalie was born May 26, 1934, to Bliss and Reva Bignall in Grace, Idaho. The family moved to Heber City, UT when she was almost 2, and remained while growing up. She worked in the family pharmacy store (Bliss Pharmacy) and truly enjoyed working behind the soda fountain after school and weekends, due to the crazy soda drink experiments with her sister. While her older brothers were off serving in WWII, Rosalie helped tend the family’s “Victory Garden.” She participated in the local 4H chapter, competing in pies, bread, sewing, and quilts. Several of her quilts won blue ribbons in the Utah State Fair. She had a love for music and took piano and organ lessons on Temple Square in Salt Lake City for several years. During high school she played the clarinet in the Wasatch High School band in Heber.

She graduated from BYU in Provo, UT ready to face the world as a schoolteacher. After a few years of teaching in Sandy and West Jordan, UT, a young Marine veteran home from WWII and Korea, caught her attention on a blind date. On Aug 20, 1962, they were married in Heber City, UT and moved to a small desert town “for just a couple years, 3 years at the most,” called China Lake, CA. There she taught school for several years (China Lake School District) before being blessed with 4 children (Buddy, Bruce, Melanie and April). She later returned to teaching as the children grew, substituting around the Sierra Sands Unified School District. After two years as a long term substitute at Richmond Elementary and then at Burroughs High School, where she served as the Junior Class Advisor (1984-85), Rosalie returned to full time teaching in the mid-80’s at Las Flores Elementary teaching 2nd and 4th grades over the rest of her career. She retired from Las Flores but remained a teacher for the rest of her life. Rosalie loved teaching and watching the students grow and learn. They were “her” kids even long after they left her classroom.

As a young couple at China Lake, Rosalie and Bryant stayed active, exploring the mountains around them, camping, hiking and dancing with the Cactus Squares Square Dance group as they traveled around Southern California. She loved to dance, especially with Bryant by her side.

Growing up, Rosalie developed a deep love for service and continued that throughout her life. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and treasured being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She raised her children to serve alongside her, helping those in need. She enjoyed the opportunities to serve in Primary (children between 18 months to 12 years old), the library, Young Women’s (young ladies between 12-18 years old) and Relief Society (women’s organization), making many friends along the way. If someone needed a meal or kids watched, she was there with a meal, a helping hand and a smile to cheer. Rosalie and Bryant could always be found on the sidelines for their kid’s sporting events, being involved with Burroughs High School Band Boosters and music programs, setting up for games and on the parade route, cheering all 4 of the kids in the band and all the extras that called them “Mom & Dad.” While raising her family, Rosalie enjoyed teaching her children the love of music, reading, cooking, sewing, crocheting, doing good and having a happy heart. She welcomed many “extra” kids along the way, (friends of her kids) who came over just to hang out, stay for dinner, or be part of the crazy after game parties.

When Bryant retired from Federal Service at China Lake Naval Weapons Station and she from teaching, they enjoyed serving together in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints until Bryant's passing in 2000. She continued to serve in the Temple for a few more years, driving to LA with friends.

“3 years” expanded to almost 64 years of being in the little desert town of Ridgecrest, CA. She loved the mountain views of the Sierra Nevadas, even though they weren’t the Wasatch Mountains. She loved the quiet peaceful life in Ridgecrest even though it wasn’t green and didn’t have winter snow like her Heber Valley. Despite the heat, and lack of summer green and winter snows, Ridgecrest was home. Her body will return to her beloved Heber City, UT, to be laid to rest.

Rosalie is preceded in death by her parents, Bliss O. Bignall, Anie Reva Yeates, brothers Bliss O. Bignall II (Annette), Olin Y. Bignall (Joyce), sister Monica Kohler (Alva), grandson Bryant Charles Ferguson and her husband Bryant Cotton Ferguson. She is survived by her brother Fredrick M. Bignall (Alma – deceased), and her four children: Bryant (Buddy) Ferguson (Tiffany) of Hendersonville, TN, Bruce Ferguson of Bakersfield, CA, Melanie Bunce (Brian) of Ridgecrest, CA, April Smith (Hansford) of Orcutt, CA, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Her family was always her greatest blessing, and she held fast to the gospel of Jesus Christ and knowing that she was sealed to her sweetheart for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. She felt blessed to have a loving family and many friends to share her life with throughout the journey.

If you knew Rosalie and were part of her journey in this life, thank you for your friendship, your kindness, your service, your smiles and hugs you continued to give her throughout her life. You made a difference.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10 am at the North Norma bldg. of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 501 N. Norma, Ridgecrest, CA. Burial will be at the Heber Valley Cemetery, Heber City, UT, 10 am Monday, June 15, 2026.

Anna Johnson Lee

Anna Johnson Lee, 76, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, joining her beloved husband, parents, and other family members after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born April 5, 1950, in Heber City, Utah, the first-born daughter of Jay and Theda Johnson, Anna grew up surrounded by relatives who lived nearby, and enjoyed an idyllic childhood. When she was in third grade, the family moved to Salt Lake City, then to other various places throughout the valley. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1968.

Anna studied early childhood education at the University of Utah. The summer before her last year of college, Anna met Raymond E. Lee on a Lambda Delta Sigma trip to San Francisco. He was the bus driver for the sorority tour. They were married on May 12, 1972, and later sealed for time and all eternity on October 10, 1973. She and Ray enjoyed their life together until he passed away in 2000.

Although she never had any biological children of her own, Anna mothered many. She was a sought-after babysitter in her youth, and was so beloved, the children would cry when their mothers came home. She was an amazing aunt to her many nieces and nephews, giving them treats, taking them out for birthday meals, hosting cousins sleepovers, and joining their Grandma and Grandpa J on many trips and vacations. She dearly loved all of her family, remembering not only the names and birthdays of all her many cousins, but also their children’s and even their grandchildren’s names and birthdays until her memory began to fail. We know she is enjoying a happy reunion with her beloved family who went before her, and whose names and birthdays she can now remember again.

Anna had all different kinds of jobs, but her favorite was driving a bus, including a school bus and tour buses to Yellowstone and all over the country. She and Ray loved to travel and visited every state in the United States, and she continued to travel with her parents and siblings whenever she could after his death.

Anna loved crafts and eventually opened her own shop, Anna Lee’s, in the Layton Hills Mall. She filled her home and life with knitting, crochet, cross stitching, scrapbooking, stamping, sewing, plastic canvas, and more. Every sibling, niece, and nephew has a full set of homemade Christmas ornaments from Anna, and she was always happy to teach anyone who wanted to learn how to do something new. Her finished projects were always perfect—even her many cross-stitch projects were just as neat on the back as the front. She was also an inveterate collector, as evidenced by her collection of over 200 cookie jars and impressive stash of quilting and cross-stitch supplies, yarn, and patterns of all kinds.

Anna was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, including Primary president and choir director, which was a brave endeavor since she herself could not carry a tune. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was absolute and an anchor to her life.

After Ray’s death, Anna moved in with her parents, and she was their primary caregiver through their final years and illnesses. After their death, she lived in her brother Mathew’s basement apartment, and was always happy for her nieces and nephews to drop in for a treat. Even as health problems slowed her down, she still made time for a daily trip to Holiday Oil for a drink in her red travel mug, which she was never without. She would buy a double drink on Saturday so that she didn’t have to shop on Sunday.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s four and a half years ago, Anna moved to Spring Hollow Assisted Living in Orem, Utah. Her cheerful attitude, interest in others, and her grateful heart made her a favorite. She was diabetic and later lost the use of her arms from spinal stenosis, but instead of complaining she did her best and was always cheerful and positive. In the last weeks of her life, caregivers would stop by her room and tell her family how much they will miss her and how they grew to love her. All who know her feel the same.

Anna is survived by her younger siblings: Jeanine (Stephen) Ehat, Linda (David) Bytheway, Kevin (Holly) Johnson, and Mathew (Carly) Carlile; seventeen nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and cousins who will all miss her cheerful hellos and warm hugs.

Her family wish to thank the Spring Hollow staff and caregivers; her insulin nurses Jamie, Beth, and Erin; Rocky Mountain Hospice; and the Orem 4th Ward for their care and efforts on Anna’s behalf.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Heber Valley Funeral Home, 288 N Main Street, Heber City, Utah. Prior to the funeral, a viewing will be held at the same location from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. After the service, she will be laid to rest at the Heber City Cemetery next to her beloved Ray.

John R Oleson

Son, Husband, Father, Friend, and Faithful Member and Missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

John R. Oleson passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in Utah Valley, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and servant of the Lord — a man whose conversion to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ became the compass by which he conducted his daily walk in life.

Born February 16, 1943, in Greybull, Wyoming, John was the first child of his loving parents, John and Madeline. He was the oldest of his siblings: LaRae, Cheryl, and Francie. He was raised on a farm in Emblem, Wyoming and loved being a farm boy. From a very young age, he drove tractors, sheared sheep, milked cows, and enjoyed working the farm alongside his father and Uncle Orin. As a teenager, he was involved in FFA and won grand champion showing sheep at the state fair. An all around athlete, he played basketball, football, and baseball. He played clarinet in the marching band and had a love for fast cars. He attended the Lutheran Church as a child with his family.

Following his conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, John served as a full-time missionary in the New York State Mission (1960–1963). He was honored that his first of many baptisms came just prior to entering the mission field, having baptized his Grandpa Peterson before his full-time service began.

Upon returning from his missionary service, John attended Brigham Young University, where he met and fell in love with Janis Haueter. Together they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 31, 1967 — a covenant he cherished and honored faithfully.

Throughout his life, John answered the call to serve with wholehearted devotion. As a lifelong missionary, he served in ward and stake mission callings. Later in life, when time permitted, he served alongside his sweetheart and companion, Janis. To his great joy, they served two full-time missions together for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, giving of their time, energy, and testimony wherever they were called. His service in the Church extended far beyond missions and included faithful participation in high councils and bishoprics.

John was a hard worker, recognized for his achievements in sales excellence. He enjoyed being physically active and growing things in his thriving vegetable garden. He taught his children and grandchildren the value of integrity, service, and faith, not through words alone, but through the quiet and consistent way he lived and through his testimony and great love of the Savior. Those who knew him will remember his friendly demeanor, love of conversation, and playful disposition.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Madeline Oleson, his beloved wife of nearly 56 years, Janis Oleson, who passed away in January 2023, and by his two sisters, LaRae and Cheryl. Following Janis’s passing, John found love and companionship when he married Bobby Lea Longhurst.

He is survived by his sister Francie (Ken) Weekes; his seven children: Rebecca (Chad) Randall, Lynette (Mark) Smedley, David (Kristi) Oleson, Jana (Paul) Talbot, Michael (Tami) Oleson, Mary (Conrad) Pack, and Aleisa (Kevin) Price; 41 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 250 East 200 South, Midway, Utah 84049. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, June 2, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Probst Family Funeral Center, 79 East Main Street, Midway, Utah 84049, and again the following morning at the church, Wednesday, June 3, from 9:30–10:30 AM. John will be laid to rest at Midway City Cemetery, beside his eternal companion, Janis.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone.” — Ephesians 2:19–20

Jimmy Lynn Greer

Jimmy Lynn Greer of Heber City, Utah passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2026.

Lynn was born on February 4, 1961 in Heber City, Utah to Jimmy Lynn Greer and Marie Thomas Greer. He married the love of his life, Diann Barney on August 18, 1995. Together they created a beautifully blended family with seven children.

Lynn’s father taught him the value of hard work and the importance of routine maintenance at the family service station Greer Oil on Main Street at a young age. Those lessons learned early in life stuck with him, and he always took so much pride in taking care of everything and everyone around him. He kept his trucks, home, and yard in tip-top shape at all times and often could be found polishing his truck until every square inch would shine. Lynn adored his wife Diann, and he took such delight in taking care of her and always made sure that she had what she needed and felt loved.

Lynn was a firefighter, first as a volunteer firefighter, then later as full-time firefighter EMT. He served the valley in this capacity for 30 plus years, and although the responsibility of that service to the community weighed heavy on him at times, he cherished the lifelong friendships made, and the time he spent in service of the community was one of the parts of the job that he loved. He hung up his firefighting gear in 2021 and spent the last several years working for Jordanelle Special Service District. There, he found joy in driving dump truck and took pride in keeping his truck meticulously maintained and clean. He genuinely cared for the people he worked with and treasured the friendships he built through out his working career.

Lynn had many hobbies including building model trucks, cars, and diesels fabricating many intricate parts and small details to make them as realistic as possible. He loved classic cars and trucks, and he loved the time he spent rebuilding a 1986 Chevy Blazer, which he enjoyed taking to car shows. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and going on rides with his wife Diann on their scooters. Lynn was the life of the party and was the ultimate host. He enjoyed having family over and made sure that everyone was having a good time and had a drink in their hand. He and his beloved wife, Diann loved to travel and they took many trips. They loved spending time in the St. George sunshine, went to Disneyland often, and adored outings to Colorado to ride the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, but his favorite trips were spent on a cruise ship. When they weren’t traveling, Lynn could be found working in his yard making sure that his grass and flower beds looked perfect. When the chores were done, Lynn and Diann would grab a drink, sit in their lawn chairs in the sunshine in their driveway, and Lynn would give a wave to all the neighbors who drove past.

Lynn loved his family deeply, they meant the world to him. He was so proud of his grandkids and especially enjoyed supporting them in their 4-H projects.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but the lives he touched in his time on this earth will forever be brighter from having known him.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Marie Greer.

He is survived by his best friend and wife, Diann Barney Greer; his children, Karrie Greer, Tiffany (Victor) Sambel, Lauden Greer, and Colden (Cheyan) Greer; step-children, Mae (Trent) Mair, Brad (Lori) Smith and Lee (Amanda) Smith; and grandchildren, Brianna, Olivia, Vivienne, Kaleb, Caydence, Dawson, Waylon, Presley, Berkley, Layla, Adele, Westlee, and Rylan; siblings, Carla (Danny) Webb and Tom (Burlene) Greer.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Brookside Ward chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1661 East 980 South in Heber City. Viewings will be held at the church on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.

Craig Hill Lacey

Craig Hill Lacey, of Heber City, Utah, passed away on May 22, 2026, following a stroke.

Craig was born on March 27, 1956, in Missoula, Montana, to George and Karma Lacey of Drummond. Growing up on the family ranch, he developed a love of trains, motorcycles, and farm machinery. Although he later left Montana to attend Brigham Young University and serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in southern Italy, he never lost his fascination with trains.

While attending BYU, Craig met and married Druann Sumsion. Together they raised four boys in West Jordan and Heber City. After a short stint back on the ranch, Craig worked as a rocket engineer in Magna while also spending Saturdays as a railroad engineer for the Heber Creeper. What began as a hobby job became a full-time career in 1997 when he became Executive Director of the Heber Valley Railroad.

Later, Craig joined Deseret Transportation as a truck driver, a job he truly loved because it took him across the country and gave him opportunities to visit friends and family along the way, all while supporting the humanitarian mission of the Church of Jesus Christ. At the time of his passing, he and Druann were serving together as Church Service Missionaries at Deseret Transportation.

Craig served faithfully in several capacities in the Church, including as a Bishop. He believed deeply in work, service, and finding joy in both - something he passed on to his family. He also proved—frequently and enthusiastically—that almost any situation could be improved with a dad joke.

Craig is survived by his wife, Druann; his siblings Alan, Rick, Joanne, Ken, and Marilyn; his four sons: Robert (Emily), Trevor (Kristy), Colin (Anna), and Cameron (Sara); 10 grandchildren; and one beloved grand-dog. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Karma Lacey.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Heber 9th Ward chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 325 East 500 North in Heber City. Viewings will be held at the church on Tuesday, May 26, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and again Wednesday, May 27, from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Heber City Cemetery.

Our family is deeply grateful for the many expressions of love, support, and cherished memories shared in honor of Dad.
