At the Milford Oyster Festival today and tomorrow? Behind the scenes, the Milford Health Department's Environmental Health Division is working hard to help keep everyone safe.

Our Sanitarians are on-site inspecting food vendors to ensure they meet food safety and public health standards, so you can enjoy all your favorite festival foods with confidence.

August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜

In honor of this important day, the Milford Health Department is hosting a FREE Community Narcan Training on Thursday, August 27, from 4–5 PM at Milford United Way, 20 Evergreen Ave.

Learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose—and receive FREE Narcan to take home. Whether you’re refreshing your skills or learning for the first time, everyone is welcome!

🦟 Mosquitoes are still active in Milford! West Nile virus has been detected in local mosquitoes, so now is the time to protect yourself and your family. Remember the 3 D's—Drain, Dress, and Defend—and avoid being outdoors during peak mosquito activity, especially around dawn and dusk, to help reduce your risk of mosquito bites.
