The night has been long and very eventful. Who knew that I'd be working on a subject I wasn't the best at in highschool, or quite frankly, had zero interest in. I'd be referring to chemistry and science. Ok, maybe that's not π― percent true. Some of the objectives in school were interesting but not enough to keep my attention. It seems as though the attributes of my life that I avoided like the plague have commenced to become my partners in crime.
Tonight, late into the sleepy hour, I have worked on trying even more herbs from my never ending garden and starting my tincture experiments. They have been just that, EXPERIMENTS. I have learned so much about density, scales, ingredient differences, patience, and how smart and quick calculating Shyene is. I'm grateful that I did purchase ALMOST enough supplies to do as necessary. That's where the experiment has come into play. I have a draw to brandy, oddly enough, but that is an ingredient I don't have enough of. At this point, the perfect storm is a brewing lol. It's not a concoction I intend on keeping but will be observing in many ways. Unfortunately, with the level of knowledge or awareness, I will be discarding that particular Frankenstein batch. I'll admit, it has been interesting and I can't wait to see what becomes of it. It just really saddens me to think of the money I feel I'm wasting. That being said, I'll probably turn that into some kind of spray for insects or something outside.
What I am doing, is and is not a science. There's formulations, trials and errors, calculations and a lot of miscalcutions. It's not a total bomber, in my opinion. I'm learning what works and what doesn't. It's a good thing that I don't have the ambition to give up. When I really care about something, it's hard to walk away. Even with the mishaps, it's still fun. Learning what works and what doesn't. Definitely, what to avoid and how to try to do correctly next time. I'll say, I'm learning all this faster than what I do at work(sorry to my work peeps). All in all, this has been so entertaining and there's no way but up from here, even though it may be slow. Slow and intentional is the way to go.
Thank you shy for helping your tired momma in getting another experiment on it's way to some kind of success. The twins have been troopers helping me collect in Michigan's I'm coming for your harvest freezes. I'm just waiting for Alexis Jean to get rested up from her cross country adventures so I can torture her a little with herbal preparations. Have a good night to anyone still up and going. I have an oil preparation still calling my name.
