Let's play a quick game of Two Truths and a Myth: Breastfeeding Edition!
Read the three statements below and drop your guess in the comments before you read the answers down below. 👇

1️⃣ Your body produces different milk when your baby is sick.
2️⃣ You must drink cow's milk to make breast milk.
3️⃣ Breastfed babies do not need extra water during their first six months.

Have your guess locked in?

Number two is the myth! You absolutely need extra calories and hydration to maintain your supply, but you do not need to consume dairy to make your own milk.
Numbers one and three are completely true. Your amazing body actually changes the composition of your milk to provide antibodies when your baby is fighting off an illness. And until they start solids around six months, your milk provides all the hydration they need.
