🌊 THE CURRENT WITHIN | WATER CLEANSING

Water has always been a place of release, renewal, and return.

When you are carrying something heavy—worry, fear, frustration, someone else’s energy, or simply something you’re ready to let go of—take it to the water.

Find a place beside the lake, river, ocean, or another body of water. Get quiet. Feel your feet on the earth. Listen to the movement of the water.

Then, say your water cleansing prayer aloud three times.

The first time, release.
Let yourself name and surrender what you’ve been carrying.

The second time, receive.
Invite in peace, clarity, strength, and renewal.

The third time, return.
Come back to yourself. Come back to your knowing. Come back to the current within.

When you finish, stay for a few moments and listen.

You don’t have to know where the whole river is taking you. Sometimes you simply need to clear what is getting in the way so you can feel the direction of your own current again.

💧 September Theme: The Current Within

Healing is not a straight line.

There are seasons when we flow with ease, seasons when we feel stuck, and seasons when life asks us to change direction entirely.

Water doesn’t resist its nature. It moves. It pauses. It shifts. It finds another way. It trusts the current.

What if we trusted ourselves in the same way?

I’ve learned that resilience isn’t always about pushing forward. Sometimes it’s softening. Sometimes it’s resting. Sometimes it’s feeling what needs to be felt. Sometimes it’s releasing the need to know where we’re going next.

Because there is a current within each of us.

A quiet knowing.
A strength beneath the surface.
A part of us that remembers how to move, even when the path isn’t clear.

And maybe the moments that feel like setbacks aren’t setbacks at all. Maybe they are part of our becoming—asking us to listen more deeply, shift direction, or simply stay still long enough to hear what’s within.

This September, I’m exploring The Current Within—trusting our inner knowing, honoring the seasons that shape us, and remembering that our stories are still unfolding.

We don’t have to have it all figured out.

We just have to keep listening. 💧

Today we honor the women who made waves. 🌊

The women who spoke up, stood together, challenged what was considered “normal,” and created currents of change that continue to carry us forward.

Women before us fought for rights many of us now move through the world expecting to have:

The right to vote.
The right to own property and control our own money.
The right to pursue an education and a career.
The right to equal opportunity and equal pay.
The right to participate, lead, and have our voices heard.
The right to safety, dignity, autonomy, and equal treatment.

None of that happened by accident.

It happened because generations of women were courageous enough to make waves.

And while Women’s Equality Day is a beautiful opportunity to honor how far we have come, it is also a reminder that our work is not finished.

Women still experience inequities in pay, leadership, health care, safety, representation, and opportunity. And today, some of the rights and protections women fought so hard to secure are once again being challenged and debated.

But history reminds us of something powerful:

A single voice can create a ripple.
Ripples can become waves.
And waves can reshape the shoreline. 🌊

We are standing in waters changed by the women who came before us.

Now it is our turn to keep the current moving forward—for ourselves, for one another, and for the generations of girls and women who will follow.

May we honor the women who made waves before us by continuing to make waves of our own. 💙

The other day, a dragonfly landed on my shoulder and stayed for a little while.

It felt like one of those quiet moments that asks you to pause.

Dragonflies begin their lives in water before taking flight. They remind us that transformation often begins beneath the surface, long before anyone else can see it.

They also remind me that we’re never separate from the natural world.

When we slow down, soften our pace, and spend time in and around water, we begin to notice something beautiful:

Nature is always reaching toward us.

Whether it’s a dragonfly resting on your shoulder, birds gathering at the water’s edge, or the gentle rhythm of waves, these moments invite us into relationship—with the earth, with one another, and with ourselves.

This month, I’m reflecting on what it means to flow together.

Not just with other people, but with the living world that surrounds us every day.
