Hi friends and family!
It’s been quite a while since our last update on Miss Tianna.
The last few years have been a lot — but in the best ways.
As some of you may know, we decided to move up north to Moorhead, Minnesota. Since moving here almost two years ago, I’m so happy to say that Tianna has not been hospitalized for any respiratory illnesses.
That alone feels like an absolute miracle. 🤍
After years of being hospitalized constantly from simple colds, viruses, and infections, these past two years have been such a blessing for our family.
Even though Tianna hasn’t been sick, life definitely hasn’t slowed down for her. She’s still had a lot going on medically.
Last year, she had a double hip surgery, and she also had her tonsils and adenoids removed. She continues to have feeding tube changes every 3–6 months, along with weekly physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy appointments.
As far as new diagnoses go, Tianna was also diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS), which is an extremely rare form of epilepsy that affects roughly 1 million people worldwide.
If you’d like to learn more about it, here’s a link: https://www.lgsfoundation.org/about-lgs-2/what-is-lennox-gastaut-syndrome/
But regardless of everything she continues to face, Tianna remains the strongest girl I know with the most beautiful smile. 🤍
Tianna loves spending time with her family (including a new baby brother!), going to inclusive parks, watching movies at home, being out in the sunshine, snuggling mom, and using her eye gaze device to communicate.
I hope to share more updates in the coming months, but for now please enjoy these pictures of Tianna and her loved ones.
