Every family has one.
When I was pregnant with my son, someone told me that if I felt nauseous, I should put a little salt on the back of my hand and lick it.
I remember thinking, “That can’t possibly work.” 😅
Now, years later, as a doula, I find myself wondering…
How many pregnancy, birth, and postpartum traditions have been passed down for generations that sounded a little strange—but actually have some science behind them?
And how many were simply myths?

👇 Tell me one pregnancy, birth, or postpartum saying you were told or grew up hearing.
I’ll pick some of your favorites and explore what modern research has to say.
