"Cloud Gate" aka The Bean created by Indian born British artist Anish Kapoor is inspired by liquid mercury, which reflect Chicago’s famous skyline and the clouds above. A 12-foot-high arch provides a "gate" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives.

The Statue of Liberty is America's Birthday Girl, one of the world's most powerful symbols of freedom and independence - and the backdrop for this weekend's NYC fireworks celebrating the 4th of July. Without her pedestal she is as tall as a 15-story building - taller than the ancient Colossos of Rhodes - and attracts close to 4 million tourists a year. Those with good knees will climb 354 steps to see the view from her crown, whose seven rays represent the Earth's seven seas.

This great city is not overly populated and offers fantastic weather year around that many simply label as “picture perfect” weather in the US.
