We are so excited to present Brainbow, our community art project that’s now hung up near our research visit rooms at MIDB!

Plaque description:
This artwork was created by members of the tic and OCD community during the inaugural MnTiC Summer Bash, hosted by the Minnesota Tic and Compulsivity (MnTiC) Lab at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB). The event brought together past and current research participants, clinic patients, and members of our online research community to connect, learn, and celebrate one another.

Participants colored individual neurons that were assembled to form a single brain. Each neuron reflects the uniqueness, creativity, and individuality of every person in our community, while together they represent connection, belonging, and shared experience.

An MRI may not be super fun, but knowing what to expect can help participants feel prepared and confident! Doing a mock (or fake) MRI makes that possible. In the end, participants are more calm and the data is better.

Our CBIT+TMS study is well-named. It combines Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). CBIT is the first line recommended treatment for tic disorders and Tourette.
