We hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day yesterday! Father’s Day is a special time to celebrate the dads, grandpas, and father figures who mean so much to our families and community. We’re grateful for the love, the jokes, wisdom, and support they bring to our lives!

We also had a great time celebrating with a recent Father’s Day lunch! It was a fun way to gather and recognize the amazing men in our community💙

Last week, friends, supporters, volunteers, and staff gathered for a beautiful Garden Party in our courtyard benefiting the Episcopal Homes Foundation and supporting the wellbeing programming across our community!

A special thank you to our drink sponsor, Dual Citizen Brewing; our event sponsor, Marsh McLennan Agency - Midwest; and our valet sponsor for helping make the evening possible! A heartfelt thank you as well to our emcee, Pat Kessler, for helping guide the evening and make it such a memorable event.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the many volunteers who gave their time and energy and to our talented culinary team for preparing a wonderful spread that everyone enjoyed!

Most of all, thank you to everyone who attended and supported this event. Together, you help make meaningful wellbeing opportunities possible for the older adults we serve. It was a wonderful evening of generosity and community spirit that makes Episcopal Homes such a special place🌺🌼

Being a caregiver can be one of the most meaningful roles a person takes on, but it can also be one of the most challenging. Check out this amazing group that our Beyond Hospice has partnered with! They have so many resources, podcasts, virtual support groups, and more!

There are aspects of summer that can make caregiving feel particularly tricky.

⛱ It can feel like everyone (but you) is on vacation.
✈ Travel (if you are able), either with or without your person, can be harrowing.
☀ The heat can cause extra health challenges.
💊Your medical team may be harder to access.
👧You may have kids who are out of school.

We've covered a few of these topics at the "In Sickness" podcast in the past and will have a free virtual support group on this subject on Monday, June 22 from 6-715pm CT.

Caregivers: what parts of summer feel tricky to you? And/or are there parts that are easier? Share in the comments below!

Today, we had a resident panel and invited wait list members to hear about living at Episcopal Homes first hand. It was an opportunity to hear about things they wish they had known before moving in and what it’s like living here.

A lot of great stories and information was shared!

Margaret Ganyo has been volunteering with Episcopal Homes since December 2025, contributing more than 100 hours to our Spiritual Life team. Working remotely from home, she designs the weekly bulletins and slideshow presentations used in our Catholic and Episcopal worship services.

As a retiree, Margaret appreciates the flexibility of the role and the opportunity to use her creativity while working toward meaningful deadlines. After touring campus with Chaplain Phil Rose, she gained a deeper understanding of how her work supports residents and their worship experience.

Margaret especially enjoys finding beautiful artwork for the bulletins and takes pride in creating uplifting, modern designs using Canva and PowerPoint. She values the encouragement she receives from Chaplains Phil Rose and Jennifer Allred, saying, “Every email from them is a bouquet of flowers!”

Recently, Phil shared his appreciation in an email to Margaret: “This morning I used this Sunday’s bulletin you created with my prayer, and I am overjoyed with how beautiful and inviting it is. Thank you for the gift of your time, imagination, and skill to create these wonderful weekly works of art.”
