Dr. Peter Kang was awarded the MDA LGMD Grant to understand in-person and remote clinical outcome measures for those living with LGMD. This project will better support hybrid trial models and overcome barriers to clinical trial participation for those living with LGMD.

Bridgebio is funding the MDA with $100,000 to advance projects aimed at improving multidisciplinary care for people with LGMD.

This year, the Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation increased their support of MD Center faculty with a gift of $250,000 to the basic scientists working toward a cure to Muscular Dystrophy in University of Minnesota labs. This year's gift was a $100,000 increase in support from 2025! MD Center Faculty receiving gifts this year include: Dr. Christina Pacak, Dr. Rita Perlingeiro, Dr. Michael Kyba, and Dr. Joseph Metzger.

Current Research Grants Funding a Cure This spring, the Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation gave a gift of nearly $250,000 to the Greg Marzolf Jr. Muscular Dystrophy Center. 🚀 A major step forward for the limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD) community is here! The Muscular Dystrophy Association and BridgeBio are partnering on a $100,000 investment to strengthen multidisciplinary care for people living with LGMD at leading MDA Care Centers at Stanford Health Care and the University of Minnesota.

These innovative projects will help expand access to care, strengthen coordination across specialties, and support hybrid care models that meet patients where they are. 🩺✨
