May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Taking care of ourselves doesn’t always look the same. For some people it’s therapy, medication, or asking for support. For others it’s setting boundaries, getting outside, connecting with community, resting, creating art, exercising, laughing with friends, or simply making it through a hard day.
Mental health care is not one-size-fits-all, and there is no “perfect” way to do it. What matters is recognizing that our emotional well-being deserves attention, compassion, and care.
As a therapist, I also believe it’s important for people to know there are many different approaches to healing. One approach I use is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based therapy that can help people process trauma, anxiety, grief, and other difficult experiences in a way that often feels more manageable and efficient than they expected.
As we move through this month, I hope we continue normalizing conversations around mental health and reminding people that support is available and that taking care of yourself is not a weakness, but a strength.
If you or someone you know needs a little extra support, I would love to chat and see if I can help.
