It makes me SO mad how little the world adapts to special needs children and adults. They shouldn’t have to fight so hard just to exist comfortably in spaces that should already include them. Inclusion shouldn’t be optional, it should be the standard. The literal bare minimum isn’t even being met. I’m so tired of living in a world that expects special needs children and adults to “adjust” instead of fixing systems that were never built for them in the first place.

And what’s worse? People act like accessibility is some kind of favor instead of a basic right. Like compassion is optional. Like inclusion is “extra.”

It’s not extra. It’s overdue.

And when you love someone who’s affected by this, you see it EVERYWHERE and you don’t get the luxury of ignoring it.

No parent should have to worry if their child will be accepted. No adult should have to question if they’ll be treated with dignity. This shouldn’t depend on where you go, who’s in charge, or how “understanding” someone feels that day.

Because until the world starts showing up for special needs individuals, we’re not as kind or inclusive as we like to pretend we are.

BE BETTER.
