🌱 GIVE HEALING TIME TO HAPPEN

Think about planting a seed.

You can water it today—but you can’t make the flower bloom tomorrow. 🌱🌷

Healing can work the same way.

As pediatricians, we absolutely want your child feeling better as quickly as possible. But good medical care isn’t always about doing MORE.

Sometimes it’s about knowing what to treat, what to watch, and when to give the body time to heal.

So when your pediatrician says:

🩺 “Let’s give it a little time.”
🩺 “Continue supportive care.”
🩺 “Let’s watch this closely.”

That doesn’t mean we’re doing nothing.

Watching is a medical plan. Time can be part of the treatment.

💜 Medicine is not a microwave.
*Good medicine doesn’t rush the body—it respects the healing process.

💊 “THE MEDICINE ISN’T WORKING!”

You gave the medicine…and your child is STILL sick.

Before assuming the treatment has failed, remember:

Medicine is not a microwave. Healing takes time.

Depending on the illness, it may take hours or even days before you see significant improvement.

And sometimes, the medicine isn’t meant to “cure” the illness at all. It may simply help control symptoms while your child’s immune system does the real work.

🚫 More medicine doesn’t always mean faster healing.
🚫 Antibiotics don’t treat viral infections.
🚫 Switching treatments too quickly isn’t always the answer.

Sometimes the prescription your child needs most is:

Medicine + Rest + Fluids + TIME. ⏰❤️

Of course, if your child is worsening or you’re worried, contact your pediatrician

🩺 MEDICINE IS NOT A MICROWAVE

We live in a world where we want things FAST.
Fast food. Fast delivery. Instant answers.

But when it comes to your child’s health, medicine is not a microwave. ⏱️

Sometimes the body simply needs TIME to heal.

Not every fever disappears after one dose of medicine.
Not every cough is gone tomorrow.
Not every antibiotic makes a child feel better after the first dose.
Not every formula choice will work the first day or the second day. Your baby may still spit up tomorrow and next week…but are they gaining weight?

Our goal isn’t always to make symptoms disappear instantly—it’s to treat what needs treating, keep your child comfortable, and allow the body time to recover.

💜 Give the medicine time to work.
💜 Give the body time to heal.
💜 And when you’re concerned, call your pediatrician.

Healing is a process, not a push button.
