🎨 10:30 a.m. | Free Yoga at the Figge with Daina Marie Lewis in museum lobby. Walk-ins welcome.

🎨 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Art Cart in the Collection Avenue – Chat with a Figge docent to learn more about the art on view.

🎨 1:00 p.m. | Second Saturday Sketchbook Club with artist Laura Warner - Figge instructor Laura Warner leads free, 30-minute sketch exercises inspired by works of art from the Figge’s collection.

🎨 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Art Making in the Museum Lobby: After exploring "Cara and Diego Romero: Tales of Futures Past," create and decorate your own vessel with air-dry clay. You can also create your own mini-masterpiece with acrylic paint and canvas, inspired by paintings from Marvin Cone.

🍸 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. | The Figge Bar is Open: Enjoy a seasonal cocktail or craft beer and play an art-inspired board game in the Cafe or relax and take in the spring view. 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 (𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺).

I can't say enough how yoga has SAVED me for the past 25 year of my life. I will be 50 on May 16, so that mean this practice has sustained me for half of my life!
It has given me strength when I feel weak, I had bawled my eyes out as I have practiced. Why?
Release!
Releasing bu****it out of my mind and away from my heart. I allow space and time to focus on breathing and observing where you are, not where you have been or where you are going. Just BE!
There are ALL types of yoga and it ALL is intended for the same purpose, for you to get connected to yourself!

Come join me next Tuesday at 7pm for my last class at Sanctuary Studios. I know this saddens my students who have been coming but also for those who's life is just busy and you can't make it to class. Trust me I know how life can feel like a wild rollar coaster ride sometimes. It hit my heart too.
Please remember I teach a weekly class at the Figge Art Museum at 5:30pm

Cost: $5 for members and $10for non members. The weather is shifting and we will sprinkle in practice time outside!
Second Saturday of each month at 10:30am is FREE community yoga at the Figge!

Yoga in the Park begins May 25th at 9am. This will be the 4th Saturday of each month, 9am at Harold's Landing, sponsored by Moline Parks and Recreation Department 😃

I am working on a new private class offering...stay tuned!

Thank you to everyone that comes to my classes and had followed me around town for the past 2 decades. I will ALWAYS be teaching and sharing what I love within our community. It may look different at times because life shifts and things change, but we will always find space to roll out our mats together! ❤️

It's a fact of a new business and as a pay-what-you-can studio: we have to look closely at what's sustainable for us all. When attendance is steady, it’s easy to keep a class going. But even though our 7 PM classes have been deeply appreciated and well-loved, the numbers just haven’t been there to support it long-term.

So we'll be retiring this time slot, with the final 7 PM class on May 1st. We invite you to wish these sunset classes a farewell with us over the next two weeks.

We want to note that the New Moon and Full Moon Movement & Meditation gatherings will continue to be held at 7 PM, offering us the space to connect with the lunar cycle and ensuring that we still have two classes a month at this sunset hour.

This doesn’t have to be goodbye forever, it may just be goodbye for now. Because there is always more to come at Sanctuary Studios.

Today is Earth Day!

Take a moment today to stop and really absorb your surroundings. Push the ground under your toes. Feel the caress of the wind on your cheeks. Enjoy the natural rhythm of the world around you.

In celebration of Earth Day, we're including Tree Pose into some of our practices. Whether you're planning on coming into the studio today or just taking a mindful pause to connect with the earth, share how you're grounding yourself. And feel free to show us your best Tree Pose in the comments because you already know we’d love to see it!

Tuesdays at 7pm, take in a beautiful night sky as you move thru your practice with me!
This practice is an infusion of all of my training, teaching and being on my own mat for over 25 years.
I remember going to my first Yoga Journal conference in the early 2000's. In one of the workshops I stood facing the sweetest elder woman, it was in Seane Corn workshop. She was in a pink leotard, with tights and leg warmers, as if she came from an aerobic class. If I had to guess she was in her 80' or older. I remember being mesmerized by her authentic spirit and thinking, that will be me someday! As we moved in our practice she just did her thing and modified her practice so beautifully.
Years later I took a workshop with the incredible Tao Porchon-Lynch. The oldest yoga teacher at that time. I wanted to take in all she had to share to keep moving like her for my own longevity. Her sweet, loving, way of presenting her style of yoga was something I will never forget!
So as I am now approaching 50 years old in 1 month, I am even more inspired by ALL of my teachers and so thankful for their wisdom.
