💬 Meet Emily SLP!

Emily’s favorite part of being a speech-language pathologist is getting to witness milestone moments firsthand. Whether it’s hearing a child say a new word for the first time, watching them communicate a want or need more effectively, or seeing them successfully try a new food, those moments are incredibly rewarding. She loves helping children build confidence in their communication and feeding skills and feels honored to celebrate every achievement alongside children and their families. Watching those small victories grow into meaningful progress is what makes this profession so special to her.

🎓 Emily earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Duquesne University. She has continued to expand her clinical expertise as an SOS Trained Feeding Therapist and will soon earn her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)!

🌟 Meet Our Team Monday: Lyvonnia, Early Interventionist (EI) 🌟

💙 What I Love Most About Being an Early Interventionist:
What I love most about being an Early Interventionist is the opportunity to walk in my purpose while working alongside unique families from all walks of life. In my 12 years as an EI, I have never encountered two families who are exactly alike, and that is one of the most rewarding parts of this work. Being an EI is more than a career for me—it is my ministry. Helping families navigate life’s challenges, celebrating developmental milestones both big and small, and supporting children as they grow continues to motivate and inspire me every day.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University in May 2013, with a minor in Education Administration. I am also a Certified Autism Coach and Play Therapist.

Meet Lauren, SLP! 🗣️💖

“What I love most about being a pediatric SLP is providing patient-centered care that helps children become confident, successful communicators in their everyday lives. I enjoy collaborating with other professionals, caregivers, and families to support my kiddos across a variety of settings, including the home and community. I love building meaningful relationships with the children I work with and being part of their communication journey. It is incredibly rewarding to see a child finally master a sound they have been practicing, watch a concept suddenly click, or hear a caregiver share that their child is communicating more at home.” 💕

👋 I am a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and I love working with children and helping them find their voice, build confidence, and grow their communication skills 💬✨

What I love most about being a pediatric SLP is seeing progress in the smallest but most meaningful moments—whether it’s a first word, a clearer sound, or a child becoming more confident in expressing their wants and needs 💛

What do you love most about being a pediatric SLP?
I love watching children’s confidence grow with every milestone they reach. I’m especially passionate about the connection between language and literacy, and I enjoy helping families create meaningful shared reading experiences at home and in the classroom. I believe in partnering closely with families and other professionals to provide engaging, evidence-based, and multidisciplinary support tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Charlene, COTA 👩‍⚕️

I attended and graduated from the College of Charleston 🎓 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education 🏃‍♀️ with a concentration in Health Promotion. I also earned my Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from Trident Technical College 📚.

What I love most about working in pediatric occupational therapy is the occupation of play 🎲—of course! I enjoy observing how each child engages in play, because every child is so unique 🌟. They truly teach us new and creative ways to play 💡.

Growing up, I loved The Little Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ and The Lion King 🦁.
