We’re teaming up to collect donations for the children that are unfortunately hospitalized during this holiday season! New Jersey has recently had a number of tragic incidents involving pediatric patients, and we want to take an opportunity to give back and shine a little bit of light back into their lives.

Toy donations will be accepted at Aberdeen Guns & Ammo until December 18th. Monetary donations can be made through our Firstline Medical PayPal Donation Link/QR Code. Screenshot to open the QR code, link also in stories!

🚨 Every toy donation & every monetary donation of $10+ will be entered into a raffle to win a Firstline Medical IFAK. This is a vacuum sealed kit with a CAT tourniquet, packing gauze, chest seals, pressure bandage, and gloves all from

All donations will be made to a local New Jersey Level One trauma center with a designated pediatric ER and ICU - all arrangements have already been made. All monetary donations will be used to buy toys and essentials for the pediatric patients and siblings who are accompanying them in the hospital.

Thank you and have a blessed Thanksgiving and Holiday Season!

IMPALED OBJECTS
Reminder not to remove impaled objects. Impaled objects may be filling the hole of an artery or venous structure, so removing them would open the hole and allow for rapid bleeding.

Instead, secure the objects in place so that it doesn’t cause more damage during transport. Sometimes long objects may be cut to allow for transport, as they did in this case.

It’s National Stop The Bleed Month.

I’m grateful to have partners like who strive to make quality gear accessible, the same way our mission is to make quality training accessible!

I’d like to highlight the Off Grid Bleeding Control Kit. I always say, if a more affordable option exists, I’m going to share it. Their kit is conveniently packaged, includes (1) CAT TQ, (2) Packing Gauzes, (1) Pressure Bandage, (1) Shears, (1) Blanket [IFKYK], (2) gloves, (1) Marker. You can throw in your own tape to make a chest seal if needed or add your own into the packaging!

The second picture is the Firstline Operator Kit that uses the TacMedSolutions Operator Kit as a base. It comes with the a convenient clamshell opening kit, along with some extra gear. The beauty of partnering with Off Grid is their ability to let you choose between your preference of a CAT or SOF TQ, and option of standard packing gauze or a hemostatic. It also includes a Firstline Patch!

So take this opportunity to check your gear, make sure it’s in good shape, check all of your expirations, and restock on any gear for the year!

We’ll be sharing some tips this month and also shouting out people in the industry who push knowledge and access to the masses!

Maximize Your FSA/HSA for Medical Preparedness

This is a reminder that if you’re enrolled into a FSA/HSA that some funds may not carry into the new year. Did you know your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) can help cover medical preparedness expenses? These accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for health-related costs, and they can be essential in preparedness allowing you to stocking up on essential first aid supplies and over-the-counter medicines.

From tourniquets, bandages, and thermometers to pain relievers and allergy meds, you can use your FSA/HSA funds for items that help you stay ready for anything.

By utilizing your FSA/HSA, you can ensure you’re prepared for emergencies and save money on healthcare items that are often necessary but easy to overlook. You may even be able to have your provider write letters of medical necessity for items such as hearing protection or even gym memberships 😉

Things I would purchase: med kits, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, cold/flu combinations, children’s variations, pedialyte, prescription medications. Consider shelf-life of tablets vs liquids. You can never have enough of these items.

Prioritize your preparedness while taking advantage of pre-tax accounts.

“After opening fire around 10:20 a.m., a school resource officer quickly confronted the gunman, and he surrendered immediately…” this is the reality we live in and a reason why we firmly support that everyone should be prepared. At least 9 additional injured, in the immediate aftermath you need to become an asset. Continue to raise the bar for yourself. Continue to train.
