Most people know me through Pawprint Pathway Counseling, but my full‑time work, the work that shaped me long before private practice, is being a School Social Worker with Great Prairie AEA.
This is my 4th year with GPAEA, and every year deepens my belief that schools are one of the most powerful places to change a child’s life. My path in education started back in 2014, and it’s taken me through so many communities that shaped who I am as a clinician and as a person.
Before coming to Iowa, I worked in
Galesburg CUSD 205,
East Moline School District,
and Knox‑Warren Special Education Cooperative (KWSED).
During grad school, I completed my practicum with SEAPCO, where I first learned what it meant to sit with students in their hardest moments and help them find safety, voice, and confidence.
Over the years, I’ve supported students in general education, special education. I’ve been part of an autism evaluation team, trained in the ADOS‑2, and have assisted in the educational identification of Autism, work that taught me how deeply kids want to be understood, not “fixed.”
This year, I’m serving multiple districts through GPAEA:
- Keokuk High School – SEBH Interventionist
- Fairfield Middle School – SEBH Interventionist
- West Burlington School District – School Social Worker for Special Education
My work is a mix of regulation support, crisis response, skill building, family collaboration, and helping teams understand the “why” behind behavior. But at its core, school social work is about connection, helping students feel seen, safe, and capable of growth.
Every student I’ve met across Illinois and Iowa has shaped the way I practice today. Their resilience, their humor, their honesty, and their courage are the reason I do this work.
I’m grateful to be part of GPAEA and to support students, families, and educators across Southeast Iowa. And I’m grateful for the chance to bring everything I’ve learned into my private practice as well.
