STABLE VS CRITICAL PREGNANCY: KNOW THE SIGNS, TRUST YOUR BODY, SAVE A LIFE 🤰🏻🚨 Your body whispers before it screams. Learn to listen 👂🏻✨
Pregnancy shifts EVERY organ in your body to make room for life. Most of it is normal and healthy. But sometimes, things go from “stable” to “critical”. This post could save you or someone you love. Read it. Save it. Share it 🤍
LEFT SIDE: STABLE PREGNANCY (Healthy Organ State) 💚
This is what a NORMAL, healthy pregnancy looks like inside. Yes, your organs move. Yes, it’s uncomfortable. But it’s NOT dangerous.
LUNGS: Stable, but shifted ⬆️ Your diaphragm rises 4cm. You feel short of breath. Normal. Your lung capacity actually INCREASES by 40%.
HEART: Stable. Pumps 50% more blood. May shift slightly left. Heart palpitations can be normal.
STOMACH: Compressed. Acid reflux, heartburn, feeling full fast. Eat small meals.
INTESTINES: Stable. Slowed by progesterone = constipation, gas, bloating. Drink water.
UTERUS: Enlarged with a healthy embryo/fetus. Grows from pear-size to watermelon-size. Weighs 1kg+ by term.
LINEA ALBA: Stretched. That “line” down your belly. Diastasis recti can happen - gap in abs. Normal postpartum.
PELVIC FLOOR: Healthy. Supports bladder, uterus, bowel. Kegels help. Slight leaking when you sneeze? Common.
This is STABLE. Uncomfortable? Yes. Dangerous? No. Your body is adapting like a warrior 🛡️
RIGHT SIDE: CRITICAL PREGNANCY (Disrupted Organ State) 🔴
This is when you need medical help ASAP. Organs aren’t just “shifted” - they’re in distress.
LUNGS: Severe Compression. Can’t breathe, gasping, chest pain, blue lips. Could be PE (blood clot), preeclampsia, or severe asthma.
HEART: Severely Shifted. Racing heart >120bpm at rest, chest pain, fainting. Could be cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia.
STOMACH: Severe Compression. Can’t keep food/water down, vomiting blood, severe pain. Could be HG, ulcer, or liver issue.
INTESTINES: Severe Compression. No bowel movement for days + severe pain + vomiting = possible obstruction.
UTERUS: Disrupted. Sharp, constant pain. Hard as a rock. Could be placental abruption, uterine rupture, preterm labor.
LINEA ALBA: Overstretched/Teared. Severe doming, pain, hernia risk.
PELVIC FLOOR: Compromised Strain. Heavy pressure, bulging, incontinence that’s sudden and severe. Could be prolapse.
THIS IS NOT “NORMAL PREGNANCY PAIN”. THIS IS EMERGENCY 🚨
CRITICAL WARNING SIGNS: ACT FAST. SEEK CARE NOW. ⏰
🩸 BLEEDING
- Spotting to Heavy Flow
- Color: Red to Brown to Black
- Detail: Sudden, new onset, increasing volume, passing clots
- Could mean: Miscarriage, placental abruption, placenta previa, preterm labor
- ACTION: Go to ER. Don’t wait. Any bleeding in 2nd/3rd trimester = emergency.
⚡ CRAMPS
- Severe, Unremitting Pain
- Focus: Lower abdomen & pelvis, back, or shoulder
- Detail: Sharper and worse than typical period pain. Doesn’t stop with rest, water, or Tylenol. Comes every 5 min.
- Could mean: Ectopic pregnancy, preterm labor, abruption, UTI to kidneys
- ACTION: Call your OB now. If after hours, go to ER.
OTHER RED FLAGS 🚩
1. Severe headache + vision changes + swelling = Preeclampsia
2. Fever >100.4°F + chills = Infection
3. Baby stops moving
