Selah's Center of Hope Selah's offers housing for expectant mothers experiencing homelessness or abuse.

During their stay at our home, they receive support and opportunities aimed at empowering them, enabling them to eventually transition to independent living. Selah’s Maternity Home offers refuge for women facing unexpected pregnancies, grappling with homelessness, abuse, or trapped in the relentless cycle of poverty without adequate support. Beyond providing shelter, we extend our assistance to ad

dress their physical needs and offer services that empower them in their individual quests for independence. Our approach involves personalized case management, guiding them through healthcare, mental health, and social services. Moms benefit from ongoing support both before and after childbirth, all the while fostering the development and reinforcement of a profound spiritual life.

At Selah, we believe that stability begins with support, and support begins with connection. We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with MDHHS (Michigan Department of Health and Human Services), which allows us to walk alongside families in Monroe County with the resources, guidance, and advocacy they deserve.

Through this collaboration, we’re able to provide clearer pathways for parents navigating state programs, strengthen access to essential services, and ensure that every resident who comes through our doors is met with dignity, compassion, and a team committed to their success.

One of the questions we get asked most: "How do you cover the cost of new residents when they come into your program?"

When a new resident joins us, we make sure their room is fully prepared with a new bed, crib, and all the essentials. Also, we help with their first grocery order!

This is only possible because of our amazing monthly donors! Their continued generosity is also what allows us to support residents throughout the rest of our program. Monthly donors are the backbone of everything we do!

we serve.

Through this collaboration, our residents gain access to career coaching, job search support, resume and interview preparation, training programs for in-demand careers, and connections to local employers who are ready to invest in their future.

But beyond the services, SEMCA brings something even more powerful; compassionate guidance, encouragement, and real pathways toward independence. Their team walks alongside our residents as they take confident steps toward stability, growth, and long-term success.
