✨ Wellness Wednesday: Communication ✨
Confidence is not aggression.
Just because someone speaks directly doesn’t mean they’re attacking you. My tone doesn’t change the message, and your interpretation isn’t always my intention.
One thing I’ve learned is that we all communicate differently. If something isn’t clear, ask for clarification. Stop assuming. Stop assigning motives. Stop creating conflict where a conversation could have happened.
Did you disagree with what was said?
Or did you decide the tone meant you were being attacked?
Those are two very different things.
Communication gets easier when we stop listening for offense and start listening for understanding.
Ask yourself:
-Are you listening to respond? Or are you listening to understand?
Direct communication isn’t disrespectful. Sometimes it’s just honesty without extra packaging.
