Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Official page of Blue Cross Blue Shield Vermont. An independent licensee of BCBSA. We think this is particularly important in this time of great change.

Who We Are
-----------------
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont has been a primary part of Vermont’s health care system for more than 30 years, providing thousands of Vermonters with health benefits and services. Indeed, we are an independent, local, not-for-profit Vermont company, governed and managed locally, and our sole focus is Vermont. For more than a generation we have been the only comp

any to offer coverage to all Vermonters, regardless of their age or medical status, or whether they purchase through employer-based health insurance plans, as individuals, or obtain coverage to supplement their federal Medicare benefits. Our affiliation with the national Blue Cross and Blue Shield system provides our members with the security of seamless, discounted health care services when they travel across the country or abroad, but we exist solely to serve Vermonters. We believe our single-state focus allows our about-340 employees to bring highly personalized service to our customers and members. It also enables us to work closely with our state’s communities and health care providers to manage costs and improve the quality of health care, and to adapt our organization to meet Vermont’s changing needs. Our company is centrally located in the state, headquartered on a scenic hillside in the central Vermont community of Berlin.

Vermont has some of the highest healthcare costs in America. This hurts everyone in our community and the well-being of our state.

That’s why we have joined other Vermont organizations to spur more conversation on cost transparency.

We invite you to join us, take action, and explore ways to save on your care.

Late summer calendars fill up fast. If you have been meaning to schedule a routine visit, screening, or back-to-school appointment, this is a good week to make the call.

A little time on the calendar now can make August less crowded.

When you’re sick or injured, Blue Cross VT is here to provide support for you to get better. We also want to help you stay healthy, so our health plans provide coverage for preventive care services, such as screenings and vaccinations.

Post a few photos this summer and help support Camp Exclamation Point. Our Summer Virtual Challenge starts tomorrow and runs through September 5.

It is simple: splash, paddle, and post. Get out on the water anywhere in Vermont, share a photo, and tag us. For every post, we give $5 to Camp Exclamation Point, a Vermont nonprofit that sends kids from underserved rural towns to a week of summer camp. Each post also enters you to win a kayak package.

Tag on Facebook or Instagram, drop your photo in the comments, or email it to [email protected] if you are not on social. Show us your Vermont summer. 🛶

Exercising with a friend makes people up to 35 percent more consistent. Accountability is a big part of that. When someone is waiting for you at the trailhead, skipping gets harder.

There is more to it than showing up. Group fitness lowers perceived stress, and moving in sync with other people, the way a dragon boat crew does, releases endorphins a solo workout does not.

Looking for company? Start a walking group on Front Porch Forum, join a Green Mountain Club section hike, or see what your community center runs.

You work out several times a week and it’s great that you’re getting regular exercise. Did you know there’s an easy step to get even more from your workouts? Exercising with a group of friends can improve workouts in many ways, including:
