We enjoyed welcoming our new Carteret County Sheriff, **John Nyberg**, at our center this week!

Sheriff Nyberg toured Sasha’s Place, learned more about our team's roles and how our children's advocacy center process works, and signed our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), an agreement outlining how our agencies work together to respond to child abuse cases and support children and families.

Strong partnerships are such an important part of this work, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to connect. We look forward to working alongside Sheriff Nyberg and his team! 💙

Every stitch is a reminder that our community cares deeply for the children and families who walk through our doors, and we are endlessly grateful for their kindness and generosity. ✨

What would you do to make an impact in your community? 💙

These West Carteret High School students chose kindness.

After being challenged by their teacher to make a difference, they used their own money to shop for snacks, fidgets, coloring books, and supplies to create care packages for the children who come through our center, all to help them feel a little more comfortable and at ease.

Such a simple gesture, but one that meant so much to us. ✨✨

In North Carolina, we are all mandatory reporters, so trust your instincts. If you suspect abuse or neglect, you are required to report it.

Awareness is everything, so understanding the truth is the first step in protecting children and strengthening our community.

As Child Abuse Awareness Month comes to an end the Carteret County Children's Advocacy Center wants to share important information to help keep our children safe.

We believe that by working together as a community, we can create a safer environment for all young people. This includes recognizing the signs of abuse, understanding how to report it, and knowing the resources available for families in need.

By spreading awareness and encouraging open conversations, we can help protect children and ensure they grow up in a loving and safe place.
