Our newest sensory mix is stomping in just in time for summer adventures — introducing our dinosaur-themed sensory mix inspired by little explorers, prehistoric discoveries, and the wild wonder of West Virginia! 🌿⛰️

In celebration of the West Virginia Strawberry Festival in Buckhannon, we brought a little berry sweet fun into our sensory play today! 🌿🍓 Children explored scooping, pouring, sorting, smelling, and creating with strawberry-themed sensory materials inspired by one of West Virginia’s favorite spring traditions.
From strengthening fine motor skills to encouraging imaginative play, sensory experiences like this help children build language, problem-solving, creativity, and social skills — all while having so much fun! ❤️

Traveling with toddlers has taught me something important — you really don’t need to pack a car full of toys 🤎✨

Some of the best developmental play happens with the simplest things already around us. A pot, wooden spoons, cookie cutters, scooping, sorting, pretend play… all building fine motor skills, creativity, problem solving, and imagination without her even realizing it. 🥄🍓

“Mellow Momma” lately is just embracing simple, open-ended play wherever we go. 🥹
