Yesterday’s pop-up was so good. I always enjoy whenever I can get my hands on it, but this time I shared with the fam and it did not disappoint.

We shared a variety of slices. The kids loved the fig pies best. The pies were fantastic, Miles was pi**ed that there weren’t leftovers for breakfast lol.

And for dessert, The Trash Can Truffles from were delicious. And we all enjoyed the cannolis from . Soooooo good. I don’t normally care for cannolis but these were perfectly decadent, but not too rich!

Oh and everything else was vegan. I’m not vegan, I just enjoy good food. All of it packed a punch. Also no one asked for this review but I always love sharing experiences that showcase great people to support their small businesses.

They’re doing pop-ups all over so check their pages for details on upcoming events. And hopefully we can have them again soon at . ✌️

I didn’t grow up in Morristown, but it was the first town I lived in when moving to NJ. And now I have the pleasure of working here. It’s a beautiful town that’s ever changing and growing. It’s filled with great businesses and wonderful people. It also doesn’t hurt that its got a great aesthetic and cute downtown. And at its heart are the small businesses with incredible and incredibly hard working people.

For the last 5 years I’ve been popping into The Artist Baker for their delicious treats. I also love being able to chat with Andrea and her team. They are some of the warmest, welcoming people in Morristown.

I stopped by yesterday morning for a scone and once again had the pleasure of talking to Andrea. Over the years we’ve talked about our local communities, our shops, family, hobbies, the world and it’s always a fantastic dialogue.

I love the work that I do because it puts me in direct contact with cool people like Andrea. The Chatty Kathy in me hates small talk and loves big talk with a myriad of people. So when I get to connect, like really connect to people, whether it be in 5 mins or 5 hours, my soul is renewed.

If you’re looking to support a wonderful small business with big heart, check out The Artist Baker in Morristown. They have amazing pastries and desserts. They recently added tea service 🤗

1/2 I find myself defending formula feeding often. With Miles I really wanted to breastfeed, but after a traumatizing NICU & hospital stay I succumbed to formula feeding in order to be released from the hospital as quickly as possible.

This experience left me depleted. I felt like a failure and spiraled into PPD and PPA. I replayed my hospital experience over and over again to see where I could’ve changed the outcome. With every failed latch I felt guilty so I decided it was not best for my mental health to proceed. By the time I mustered the will to get help from a lactation consultant it was relatively too late; I’d be fighting an uphill battle I knew I could not handle.

With Max I went back and forth with what I wanted to do. Mom guilt persisted and it felt unfair to offer one kid something I couldn’t do for the other. Then once I found out the challenges he would face once born I really struggled with what I wanted to do. I eventually decided to try to combination feed. My niece was successful and I aspired to do the same.

I briefly tried breastfeeding unsuccessfully and eventually decided that I already had enough on my plate with his health concerns than to force a new skill like breastfeeding.
