Hip extension is one of the biggest contributors to a strong, efficient running stride.
As you move into an upright position, you don’t want to think about pulling yourself forward. Instead, think about pushing the ground behind you using your glutes. This creates better propulsion, improves running efficiency, and helps generate more power with each stride.
Here are 3 exercises to help build stronger hip extension:
- Single-leg hip thrust
- Split squat
- Reverse lunge
Strong glutes = stronger push-off = better running.🏃♀️💪
