There's no better place to connect with our community than the Central Creek Farmers Market in Goose Creek!

Every conversation matters. Whether someone is looking for support, asking questions, or simply stopping by to learn more, we're honored to be there because you never know when a single interaction could change—or even save—a life.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, our community partners, and the organizers for making another wonderful Saturday possible. We look forward to seeing you at the next market!

What an incredible day at the One Dose, Many Lives event on Saturday.

WakeUp Carolina was honored to join so many amazing community organizations, advocates, first responders, and recovery champions committed to saving lives and reducing overdose deaths in our community.

The event featured powerful guest speakers, moving personal stories from individuals whose lives have been impacted by naloxone, and live performances by Altar Ego () and Nar2D2 that brought energy, hope, and inspiration to the day.

Events like this remind us that overdose prevention is more than a public health effort—it's about people, families, second chances, and communities coming together to protect one another.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared their story, distributed resources, and helped spread the message that one dose of naloxone can mean many more lives, memories, and opportunities.

Together, we continue to build a community where hope is stronger than addiction and every life is worth saving.

This week, WakeUp Carolina is honored to welcome special guest speaker Navy veteran Fred Gutierrez.

Fred's story is one of resilience, perseverance, and hope. After a life-changing injury left him mostly paralyzed on the left side of his body, many believed he would never walk again. Through determination, faith, and an unwavering commitment to recovery, Fred defied the odds.

Today, he continues to inspire others by walking, playing golf, and sharing his powerful message that our circumstances do not have to define our future.

Whether you're facing challenges in recovery, mental health, physical health, or simply life's obstacles, Fred's story is a reminder that hope is always stronger than adversity.

Join us for an evening of inspiration, connection, and proof that the human spirit is capable of far more than we often believe.

We hope to see you there.

Had a great time representing WakeUp Carolina at the James Island First Friday Town Market! With more than 50 vendors, live music, great community support, and even a giant turtle making an appearance, it was a fantastic evening on James Island.

We were grateful for the opportunity to connect with community members, share resources, and spread awareness about lifesaving overdose prevention measures. Every conversation matters, and every person we reach is another opportunity to save a life.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, asked questions, picked up resources, and supported our mission. We look forward to returning for the next market in September!

Fentanyl is changing everything. ⚠️

This isn’t the same drug landscape as before.
Fentanyl is now showing up in substances where people don’t expect it—
and it only takes a tiny amount to be deadly.

We’re seeing it in:
• Pills that look like prescriptions
• Co***ne
• M**h
• He**in
• Even ma*****na in some cases

Most people don’t even know it’s there.

That’s what makes it so dangerous.

What you can do:
✔️ Carry Narcan
✔️ Never use alone
✔️ Test substances when possible
✔️ Talk openly about the risks

This isn’t about judgment—
it’s about saving lives.

If you or someone you know needs support, reach out.

👇 Share this. You could save a life.
