Is sound therapy just relaxation?
I get it. I understand why people wonder that. 😄
Here's what's actually happening when you're lying there thinking you're just having a nice nap...
🧠 Your brainwaves are shifting.
From the busy, buzzing beta state you live in most of the day... into alpha and theta waves. That's the same state as deep meditation or the moment just before sleep. Most people never get there on their own.
💛 Your nervous system is switching gears.
From fight-or-flight (which most of us are stuck in without even realizing) into rest and digest. Heart rate slows. Breath deepens. Your body starts doing the repair work it's been waiting to do.
🎵 Vibration is moving through your body.
Sound is physics. The bowls create frequencies that your body literally feels — not just hears. Tension releases from muscles that have been holding on for months. Sometimes years.
✨ Your body is remembering something.
What it feels like to be safe. Still. At home in itself.
So is it relaxing? Absolutely. 🌿
But relaxation is the side effect, not the whole story.
