Recovery isn’t just about healing the mind — it’s about reconnecting with the body, too 🤍
Movement can be such a powerful tool in our recovery!
• helps reduce stress hormones like cortisol
• increases dopamine and serotonin — chemicals connected to mood and motivation
• can improve sleep, which is essential in recovery
• has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
• can help rebuild trust, confidence, and self-worth
• group movement (walking, yoga, fitness classes, dancing) can reduce isolation and create connection
• just 10–20 minutes of movement can positively impact mood and cravings
Recovery doesn’t require perfection.
It can look like stretching in the morning, walking around the block, dancing 💃 in the kitchen, lifting weights 🏋️♀️ , yoga 🧘♀️ , or simply breathing deeply outside in the sun ☀️
