A Fourth of July Celebration to Remember at TSVH Cleveland!

Rain may have moved the celebration indoors, but it certainly didn’t dampen our patriotic spirit! Our facility was filled with music, laughter, activities, great food, and nonstop celebration as our Veterans, families, community partners, and special guests came together to celebrate Independence Day.

We were honored to welcome Senator Adam Lowe, Cleveland Mayor Kevin Brooks, Bradley County Commission Chairman Thomas Crye, and many other wonderful guests who helped make the day so special.

A celebration of this size would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our community. We are deeply grateful to:

🌭 Peyton’s – more than 350 hot dogs and all the fixings
🥖 Hospice of Chattanooga – all the buns
🥔 American Legion & Auxiliary – chips and paper products
🥤 Sons of the American Legion & American Legion Riders – an amazing assortment of sodas and plenty of water
🇺🇸 American Legion – a table packed with patriotic Fourth of July wearables
🎨 DAR – a wooden flag craft
🍬 DAV – candy
🇺🇸 Elks Lodge – 100 American flags for our Veterans to proudly hold
🥮 MoonPie – more than 300 MoonPies
🪓 Right at Home – a fun plastic axe-throwing activity
🍰 Senior Helpers – treats to enjoy alongside the cake
🖍️ Builtwell Bank – a coloring activity
🪙 Hearth Hospice – special challenge coins

And what would a celebration be without entertainment? A huge thank-you to the Rosewood Band for keeping the music going and to Ms. Darlene’s preschoolers for bringing even more joy to the day!

The weather may have kept us from celebrating outside, but inside TSVH Cleveland, the patriotic spirit was everywhere.

Thank you to every organization, volunteer, guest, entertainer, staff member, and community partner who helped us honor our Veterans and celebrate the freedoms they have so bravely defended.

This is what community looks like—and we are so grateful to be part of it. Happy Fourth of July from TSVH Cleveland!

Some days become memories that last a lifetime.

In June, residents from Tennessee State Veterans' Homes Murfreesboro had the incredible honor of attending the Folds of Honor Rock 'N Jock Celebrity Softball Game—and for one unforgettable evening, they felt like the stars themselves.

From the moment they arrived, they were surrounded by gratitude, kindness, and heartfelt appreciation. Many of our veterans were greeted by attendees and celebrities alike, and several even had the opportunity to be interviewed by FOX Nation, sharing their stories and representing those who have served our country.

One moment, however, will forever remain in our hearts.

As God Bless America filled the stadium, one of our residents—overcome with emotion—slowly rose from her wheelchair, tears streaming down her face, to honor the country she loves. It was a powerful reminder that patriotism isn't just remembered—it's lived.

To Folds of Honor, thank you for creating an experience that made our veterans feel seen, celebrated, and deeply appreciated. Your unwavering commitment to honoring those who have served and sacrificed created memories our residents will cherish forever.

To our veterans: You are, and always will be, our heroes.

Happy Independence Day & Happy 250th Birthday, America!

Today we celebrate 250 years of freedom, honoring the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the men and women who defended our nation and the freedoms we cherish every day.

As you gather with family and friends to fire up the grill, enjoy the sunshine, and watch fireworks light up the night sky, we invite you to remember those who made these moments possible.

Many of the veterans who call Tennessee State Veterans' Homes home—including countless Vietnam veterans who never received the welcome home they deserved—answered our nation's call without hesitation. Today, we have the privilege of giving back.

Honor your freedom by giving back to those who protected it. ❤️🤍💙

Your support helps provide meaningful activities, special celebrations, enhanced comforts, and life-enriching experiences that make our veterans feel the appreciation they have always deserved.

From our Tennessee State Veterans' Homes family to yours, we wish you a safe, joyful, and patriotic Fourth of July as we celebrate America's 250th Birthday!
