Health Alert: Thyroid Disorders Linked to a Higher Risk of Migraine.
An analysis of multinational data from the TriNetX Global Collaborative Network concerning more than 33 million adults revealed that both hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid) and hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid) were independently associated with a higher prevalence of migraine. The findings suggest thyroid health may be an important consideration when evaluating individuals with migraines.

Diet: A Potential Link Between Omega-6 Fatty Acids to Endometriosis and Infertility Risk.
Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often causing pelvic pain and fertility problems. In a study that included more than 115,000 adults, researchers found that higher circulating linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid found mainly in vegetable oils, nuts, and seeds) and total omega-6 fatty acid levels were associated with increased risks of both endometriosis and infertility.

Exercise: Exercise May Benefit Both Physical and Mental Health in Those with Type 2 Diabetes.
Depression commonly affects people with type 2 diabetes, reducing quality of life and making diabetes management more challenging. A meta-analysis of 22 studies revealed structured exercise programs may improve depressive symptoms, with mind-body exercise—such as tai chi or yoga—ranking as the most promising approach.

Chiropractic: Improving Sciatic Nerve Mobility May Help Some Cases of Hamstring Tightness.
Past research has linked tight hamstrings with low back pain, but muscle tightness is not always the only cause. In some people, reduced movement of the sciatic nerve may contribute to limited hamstring flexibility. A recent research review found that neural tissue mobilization—a hands-on technique that may be provided by chiropractors and is designed to improve nerve movement—may help improve hamstring flexibility and pain-related outcomes.

Mental Attitude: Omega-3 DHA May Play a Role in Mental and Metabolic Health.
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid found mainly in fatty fish that may help reduce inflammation by promoting the production of compounds that help resolve inflammatory responses. In a study of over 4,400 adults, higher DHA blood levels were associated with 15% lower odds of having both central obesity and depression.

Wellness/Prevention: Cutting Back on Salt May Help Protect Brain Health.
Following an analysis of data from the Genome-Wide Association and UK Biobank studies, researchers report that higher salt intake may increase the risk of dementia by up to 23%.
