Our Women’s Beginner Fly Fishing Day Camp last Saturday was an absolute blast with these 3 ladies. They did amazing and I am so dang proud of their progress during our time together.
>>My goal is to always teach fly fishing in a way that not only teaches the “how” but also the “why”. Connecting these two pieces is key to successful fishing without a guide or partner but also to continuing your progression no matter what level you are currently at.
>>We started with some yoga on the lawn at Bron Yr Aur Brewing Co then moved into our on-grass/classroom workshop. An intro to casting, basic fly fishing theory + technique and some fun learning 3 knots at our “knot station” filled out our morning before we loaded up and drove up river to our afternoon fishing adventure. 2 hours on the river in the beautiful Naches sunshine gave these ladies the opportunity to put their new skills to the test while building their confidence every step of the way. We were all having so much fun that we had a hard time leaving the river! But a cold beverage was calling our name back at Bron Yr Aur Brewing Co // and when that happens, you always have to listen.
>>And yes! Everyone attending not only gets a sweet canvas GWG swag bag full of goodies but they also receive one of our signature trucker hats as well as a take-home guide that will help them continue their progression beyond the day camp.
>>Next up is our Intermediate Women’s Fly Fishing Day Camp on June 27th — meeting location and morning workshop is at Bron Yr Aur Brewing Co followed by coaches fishing on the Tieton or Naches River. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to level up… and have a damn good time with a crew of ladies cheering you on every step of the way. 🙏
