We will be having a no-cost, walk-in flu vaccine clinic at the Fairhaven Senior Center on Friday 10/23 from 1:30-3:30 PM. Standard and high-dose flu vaccines will be available. Please bring your health insurance card if you have one!

Flu season is right around the corner! Our first community flu vaccine clinic will be on Wednesday 9/30 from 1-3 PM at the Acushnet Council on Aging and Senior Community Center for adults 18+. Drop in clinic, no appointment required.

September is National Preparedness Month. This week: build a kit.

A storm or a long power outage can close stores and pharmacies for days. FEMA recommends a household kit you can live off for several days.

Start with:
• Water. One gallon per person per day, for several days. Don't forget pets.
• Non-perishable food and a manual can opener
• Flashlight, extra batteries, and a battery or hand-crank radio
• First aid kit and a few extra days of prescription meds
• Copies of IDs and important papers in a waterproof bag
• Phone charger and a backup battery

Keep it in a bin or duffel everyone in the house can find. Check expiration dates once a year.

Did you know? In addition to our seasonal flu clinics, we also offer no-cost, in-home vaccine service for community members in New Bedford, Fairhaven, and Acushnet who are homebound or otherwise unable to make it to a flu clinic site.
