🦷 CLINICAL PEARL: OBTURATION
A beautiful master cone fit doesn't guarantee a quality obturation.
Successful root canal treatment depends on much more than what the cone looks like before placement.
✔️ Canal preparation: Appropriate shaping, working-length control, and effective cleaning.
✔️ Obturation technique: A technique suited to the canal anatomy, with attention to filling quality and avoiding voids or unnecessary extrusion.
✔️ Radiographic assessment: Evaluate the length, density, and overall quality of the completed root filling.
Remember: obturation quality starts well before the master cone enters the canal.
At Dental Study Circle, we believe that understanding the rationale behind every clinical step is what helps dentists develop sound clinical judgement.
